Maybe? But who are you targeting by dangling Buch? Also, Buch is damn near PPG (This season). Do you trade that away as he enters his prime?
- JRR1285

Don't have the answer. Also, he's due new contract next year, as is Zib, Strome in a couple years, Fox...and kids will be off ELCs . Patience is great, but w/ the hard Cap, there isn't much time to let things play out the way we want to. Having all these high end picks makes it harder in many ways when the first year or two is a Covid cluster fuuuck. NO relief or consideration given to teams in NYR situation, contract wise

Buch is best trade chip now....does NYR trade him along w/ some picks/prospects to get a Center?

- rrentz

Buch is an excellent play maker and now plays 200 feet. How about they give him a look at center? Not sure how he is on FO tho.

A lot of people on here seem to think center and wing are interchangeable. They are completely different animals.

It's definitely a lot easier to go from Center to Wing but not the other way around

Very rare but it happens. Sebastian Aho the most recent successful example.

I guess I’m hilarious! Just seems to have the skill set outside of faceoffs which i have no idea.

I wasn't making any judgement about you or anyone else for saying it. Just that the idea is being tossed around as if a winger playing center is no big deal and it often is. The center has way more responsibility and needs to cover a lot more mileage.

This is actually a really good proposal for both sides and something I could see happening

Theyve been using LAF at C on the PP2. I wonder what thats about.

I hadn't realized that. Maybe just because they aren't expecting the up and down play that requires the center be positioned properly for defense against a rush?

I think LAF is actually quite good at defense. I might be getting ahead of myself but maybe this is baby steps to the overall bigger picture for them to potentially try him at C.

Hey, I would absolutely LOVE to be wrong. I just know that there are limited success stories in this area.

Oh I know but if theyre gonna so stubborn with using Chytil there, I think someone with the hockey IQ of LAF could at the very least be better than Chytil.

If we could sign Taylor Hall for 3 years and $18M this off-season, would anyone here do it? I honestly don’t see him getting much more than that. What a horrible decision he made to sign for 1 year in Buffalo.
