Lol He’s been fine defensively. He’s made two mistakes all season, and he was basically hung for them - Slimtj100
welp he better play perfect tonight, because the 9th overall pick 3 years ago is finally about to get his chance and they play the same position

Canucks have claimed two guys off waivers from Toronto the past week, first Vesey, now Travis Boyd |

TJ, that would make him the best player in the league.
Put the kool-aid down, take off the Gautier-coloured glasses and realize that Gaut is one of about 5 young kids with great potential that is fighting for more of a presence on the team. I wish him luck, but he is not due anything more than he earns. The coaches are obviously more aware of when and how each of them disappoint than we are.
I love your passion though, my friend!! |

I really just don’t want Seattle to get the chance at him. Trade him or keep him. Don’t lose him for nothing |

Legit over half of the Pens remaining schedule is the Devils/Sabres though. They will make it by default - TPC
Ugh, didn't recognize that.
Will make their fall even more of a blunder |

I know. I was just taking an opportunity to throw you a jab.
I still hold firm that it's because he doesn't fit with the Rangers. Not his overall play. He should request a trade. |

No, no one is saying you have to be patient. You can be (frank)ing miserable if you want. - Tonybere
Ugh, I guess you really enjoy watching the rookies go through the "process". No one miserable on my end. Just really frustrating to watch Laf, Kakko, and Kravs(soon) this year...no? Glad we picked them but kind of want to fast forward to next year

I think Kravtsov might be the most ready since hes 21 and been playing in the KHL. He could surprise many |

Just grinding your gears, man.
I would not say that enjoy the kids not producing. I am just realistic that not everyone is going to hit all the milestones we might like. And not everyone is going to move along at the same pace.
I find small solace in the good plays they make. LAF has impressed me since game 2 of the schedule with his attention to detail away from the puck. I have seen small progress in his confidence. Kakko is becoming one of the best wall players in the division (I'm not watching the West or Central too much).
I think what is really holding them back is their reluctance to fight toward the middle of the ice. That is where the points come from. So far, I am still quietly holding out hope that their natural offensive talents will emerge once the rest of their game catches up to the way the NHL game it played.
I may be disappointed down the road, but I'm loving the ride! |

I'm counting on it. He's been playing top minutes in KHL. After a few games, he should really start to show what he's got.

I'm not gonna lie....I figured we would be seeing more high end offensive plays then we've been seeing. I remember Kovalev as a rookie. He made a ton of mistakes, but goddam he showed flashes of what he could do. |

Kakko saying he's still feeling covid side effects and getting winded definitely explains a lot of his play lately accordng to an article from Finland |

I gotta say, despite that he still looks pretty damn good at times.
Maybe a bunch of these guys will starting rounding into form and make a serious run. The rattle off 5-6 in a row and the conversation might change. |

If we could get Gautier to play responsibly the way LAF and Kakko have and get them to drive the net the way Gaut has been, there would be an all-out dog fight for ice time on this team!!! |

I just want to see development at this point. I have conceded that this may just be a year of growth and not playoff success. I was frustrated early on but I have come to terms with that. I have been most frustrated by Zibanejad and the absence of Panarin. I am OK for now with how Lafreniere and Kakko are progressing. I would rather they light up the score sheet but if they can become solid defensively and then bring in the offense I am all for it.
Now if they rattle off some wins and get back into the playoff conversation I am not going to complain. |

Having the youngest team in the league w/ a wierd playoff structure last season, shortened training camp/at different time of year. NYC shutdown for most part, tough division only schedule, Covid effects ZIB, Kakko) makes this season a cluster fuuuuck, especially for the rookies. Even w/ all of that said, it still sucks waiting for kids to start contributing on a nightly basis. Realism be dammed

They really need to make some moves to address the logjam of players. Or convert someone to a C. |

No way can NYR trade away any youngters this year. Haven't seen enough to make a decision to them away.

I think we all saw players like Matthews and Laine etc going one and two overall and expected that here in NY with the picks they got gifted. It hasn't panned out that way (yet) but it's not the fault of the kids. Cluster (frank) is the best description of the last two seasons so far.
Many of us definitely had high expectations (myself included) but I think most of us are willing to wait and see what happens over the next few years instead of looking at their rookie and sophomore seasons and calling them busts. |

They need to do something. Can't get everyone up to the big club for a legitimate look. I get what you're saying but some of these assets are going to leave to address the need at center. |

Maybe? But who are you targeting by dangling Buch? Also, Buch is damn near PPG (This season). Do you trade that away as he enters his prime? |
