Getting something out of him is a huge bonus, but if a coach made Eichel and Dahlin into night in and out gamechangers that they can be, that's much more important. They obviously don't have the depth of Tampa and even Toronto, but we've seen those teams have levels of success despite some really bad contracts.

this hiring of Ralph Kreuger gotta be one of worst hirings in history

ranks up there with us and Trottier

Kreuger hadn't coached hockey in 6 years when they hired him, he was coaching soccer that whole time

insane

Them hiring Ruff again has to be up there too, which I'm still not sure why Jersey did. Their head coaching picks have been sketchy to say the least.

The bottom 8 teams get a chance for the #1 pick with no team moving more than 4 picks up or down.
- Brukie

That's not correct, from what I've just been reading.

All non playoffs teams eligible for lottery. Winning team can only jump 10 spots. So, 16 can still win it, but only move up to 6th.
There are 2 winners each lottery. No team allowed more than 2 wins per 5 years. That is all it says. So, if you win 2nd place twice in a row, you're done for 4 years.

It looks like hiring Quinn will be a head scratchier too!

Sorry I meant that is what it should be, not what it is.

Even if Quinn turned out not to be the right guy, I don't think it's on the same level. Ruff and Krueger are two guys that's a known commodity that passed them by, there's no reason to think they could recapture their success with outdated views. DQ was a swing for the fences move bringing in a college coach. Sometimes when you try to hit a home run, you strike out.

I think it depends on the matchup

I want Lemieux playing if they are playing the Caps or Islanders

So do the Caps & Islanders

Lemiuex-Rooney-Blackwell is hopefully what the 4th line becomes once Kratsov starts playing. Sorry TJ, just don't see a spot for Gauthier right now
- TPC

Bro, Blackwell over him is just bonkersly stupid. I don’t get what this board has against him 🤷🏻‍♂️

Blackwell has been pretty much a non factor after the first month on the season. He has 2 pts in the last 11 games

I'd take Gauthier on the 3rd line with Pageau & Wahlstrom

TJ, he is a 4th line player. Gautier is not. It is that simple. If Gaut can beat out one of the others for a spot in the top 9, fantastic. Sign me up. But, he is wasted on the 4th line. Whoever ends up without a chair when the music stops might as well be traded for future depth.
No one has anything against him. Truthfully, we just want to avoid night after night of you female doging that Gautier needs more icetime because he's stuck on the 4th line playing 7 minutes a game!!

There's something to be said about the performance of the team since Knoblauch stepped behind the bench. It's a small sample size and point taken that they are mostly using Quinn's gameplan (or that is how they are selling it). But if Quinn and his staff come back and the level of play drops off it can't be ignored. The in game adjustments over the last few games have offended me way less than the ones prior. Who knows

there's a lot of obsession about the 4th line around here and the last two games they have played the least they have all season

Knoblauch has ridden the big names more, that's the reality

Zib Panarin, Kreider, Buch all had their best years under Quinn. Not to mention Fox, Lindgren, Miller.........

This suggestion that Quinn is this horrible coach is so (frank)ing absurd. Again, he might not be the coach for the team going forward, but jesus some of the crap thrown at Quinn is ridiculous

This is true. And if you look back at the timing of it, we were still calling for Mika to be moved to the press box right up until Knoblauch got here. And Panarin only had one game back at that point, too.
Gee, I wonder what the difference is???

I really dont care about the 4th line, I just want a guy centering it that can win faceoffs

what I want is Panarin-Strome-Kakko to remain a thing

you guys can fight about all the rest
