Lemiuex-Rooney-Blackwell is hopefully what the 4th line becomes once Kratsov starts playing. Sorry TJ, just don't see a spot for Gauthier right now
- TPC

I agree, TPC.
I really like Gautier, but I don't see how he sticks. As much as I like him and don't really like Lemieux, Gautier is not a 4th line player. So, there is no point holding on to him for that purpose.
There is little chance we are all going to end up happy regardless of who they choose, but without a doubt, someone from the RW group has to be traded. 26 games to figure out who. I'm leaning toward thinking I hope they can move Gautier for something like a 2022 1st.

They also need to stop giving NMC/NTC to everyone they lock up.
- JRR1285

Agreed. An overused bargaining chip that management gives away too easy. Amazing how the GMs don't learn from all the times it screws the team over.

I have thought there wasn't enough credit given to Rooney for Howden's PK prowess. Not saying it was the only factor, but Rooney has obviously been quite good for us and he was always Howden's partner on the PK.
Last night, I thought Rooney struggled a little compared to other games.

Rooney is an unheralded player that should not be overlooked.

I was pretty high on Lemieux but he is trash. I'd rather have Howden in the lineup.

I think it depends on the matchup

I want Lemieux playing if they are playing the Caps or Islanders

I agree with that but they need a better solution than Lemieux for the future. He is just a constant liability out there because the refs (frank)ing hate him.

But....Lemieux gives us that toughness that we need 6% of the time!!!! And for 25% of those times, when he isn't in the box, he is an asset!!!!!!!

The best moment of his career was when he told Domi that he (frank)ed his sister.

I don't think he is here long term but at least through the season. He is also the only natural left wing for that 4th line and brings toughness. Why I think they keep him in, especially with the teams they have to face down the stretch.

Understood. But, I don't think he frightens anyone.
I can't imagine any team is watching video prepping for a game against us saying, "Hey, for 8 minutes a game, keep your eye on Lemieux."

Morgan Barron is the wild card in this, he can take that role if they think he's ready

It just hit me. His greatest use is saving Lindgren from having to get into fights!

Yeah, Lindgren bleeds like he is made out of chop meat so fighting would not be in his best interest.

I agree. Most of the time he is a non-factor. He hasn't found his niche.
He tried to be a Barnaby, Avery, Tucker type player, but does not impact the game even close to those guys.
Other teams new they have to play those "pests" and would plan to make sure they don't get under your skin.

The NHL's proposed draft lottery changes received formal approval from the Board of Governors after a vote on Tuesday, according to TSN Hockey Insider Pierre LeBrun.

Starting this year, only the top two spots in the draft will be determined by the lottery, down from the previous number of three.

Starting in 2022, a team can move up a maximum of 10 spots, making only 11 of the 16 teams who miss the playoffs eligible for the first overall pick. Also beginning in 2022, a team can win the lottery no more than twice in a five-year span.

He just needs to play hockey and let the rest fall in to place. The big issue being that he is simply not skilled enough it appears.

Yeah. I do think it is an improved system. But, doubtful they would have done it if another team had our success.
