Lol the book is out on all of them. For whatever reason the coaching staff does not see Ghost as a fit in our lineup which is crazy with how bad some guys have been playing and the fact that Nate Prosser is in our line up. What the FRANK is going on with this team. I almost want to scorch the earth and flip the whole roster and entire coaching staff

Over the last month or two there has been multiple coaching decisions I have questioned. And seems way more than normal. Way more.

Morning peeps, hopefully the Isles can continue the Flyers misery.

Get Allison (while actually healthy) and Laczynski up. Have seen enough NAK Bunny and CT as neither offer very little.

Just waive Ghost as clearly the coaching staff has no need for him.

Why is it so hard for this team to be prepared for games and be locked in during games. I’ve never seen a team shoot themselves in the foot more than this one. You’d think 9-0 would be a wake up call but it wasn’t. I don’t want to hear the practice time nonsense either, every team is in the same exact scenario

while I want to wait there is also a business side. Coming into the season I don't think making the playoffs was a big concern and now it is. They are in striking distance and can make it, I am not sure that Fletch will have a choice, he will have to make a move to get them in. The only way he might not is if Coots is out long term, that creates way to many holes, ones you can't fill. If they win tonight and Coots is day to day, you will see a trade.

I hear you about the business concerns. In my view if the business concerns outweigh the hockey decisions. The wrong people are running the team. It is a business however.

Agree. Even the game after. Yes amazing 50 min effort. Wait how long are the games again. They got lucky in the win. The one this is messing with the most is hart as well. Can’t have nice things I guess

Yep. Is it not clear to you the coaches don't like him? I have to assume the GM has tried to move him for a long while now. Doesn't seem to be much if any interest. So waive him on the chance someone takes him. If they do then you have cap space to address your needs in the summer. If they dont then no harm.

Yeah it would be such a travesty to let him go when he clearly isn't in their plans going forward. Damn it would set the team back years.

It's been a horrible regression for Hart, but the team hasn't helped him. If he indeed modified his game by playing further back, he needs to modify it back to what worked last year. I know the poor team d make it hart more apt to want to stay back to react to a pass, but it doesn't matter if you're getting beaten on the shot because you don't have the net covered.

Regardless, play better team d.. watch the goalies improve. Glad they're giving Hart a full night off. He prob needs it.

Looks like we will have Coots back tonight. Great, we'll only lose 8-0.

Glad Ghost is back in. He's not perfect, but I think he's better than what we had out there recently.

I pray that Fletcher makes the proper assessment of this team for this season and waits until the off season to make some smart moves.
-MJL

I don't totally disagree with you, though I feel if Fletcher can get a really good player for a reasonable price that he can fit within his ED plans I hope he does it. But I wonder what you define as "smart" moves? As you know I have been very consistent in posting this team needs a major shakeup, starting with the leadership. Do you consider this a priority for Fletcher in the off season, or do you believe this leadership group is still viable? And BTW, I think the shakeup should not just be in the players, I also believe 1 or both assistant coaches need to be replaced if AV is on board with it.

Yea I’m not really aware of any adjustments he made but if what you said is true, he had a great year last year why would they change anything. Maybe just build on it, these coaching staffs get paid a lot of money and at times over complicate things that don’t need to be

A week or so ago someone posted a link to info stating that Hart changed a couple things and one was playing back further. I meant to ask Bill if he knows about it/could find out more. Sounds counterintuitive to me. Hart was so strong technically/rebound control etc last year and especially in the playoffs, why in God's earth do you mess with that?

So are we cheering for a higher draft pick or are we xheerif for a first round loss in the playoffs?

What's the mood in here today?

I’m trying to think of the last Flyers team I liked. Maybe 2010 team? Razor in net. Briere, Richards, Gagne, Carter, Hartnell, young Claude and JVR up front. Pronger and Timmonen. Guys like Laperrier (sp?) and Carbomb sprinkled in there. Lavy coaching. A lot of potential. Good times.

Considering the Flyers luck with top-5 picks and lottery luck, probably better to not pray for a tank.

What does it matter at this point, who plays D I mean. This team has lots of problems, in net, defensively, special teams, etc. but none of these can be compared to the real problem on this team, and that is the lack of leadership and the culture that has resulted. Until this gets fixed, nothing else will get solved.
