reporting on Hockey Night in Canada that the #Canucks, who were taking calls on their pending UFAs, have decided to wait to make moves with the run the team has gone on.

--------------
Teams are looking. Maybe someone makes an offer that Jim just says (frank) let's do it.

That would be great. The hottest insider rumor was Leaf's wanted Pearson. Willing to give up a 2nd. If that's still there get it done.

The Petey injury has opened up the convo again of going with him plus JTM and Bo as centers. Podz and Hogs can play in that balanced top 9 with BB, JV and Gaudette. They can then re-sign Vesey or Lind busts his way on. Then they are set for another season.

After that, when more dead contracts come off they can go for a high profile upgrade via trade/UFA.

He's a loser don't waste your energy on the POS

We don't want this Edm game going to OT

Would have preferred the Oil to lose they seemed more within reach. Plus, the Jets will now be more desperate for a win coming to town.

Picked up a point on WPG and Cgy tonight . Win the next two in regulation and we are ahead of WPG

It was also nice to see Holtby play a solid game. He didn't have a chance on any of them. Lordy can suck my balls if he thinks he could've done any better.

The 2015 Calgary Flames beat the #Canucks in the first round. That trade deadline they traded pending UFA top-six forward Curtis Glencross for a 2nd and 3rd.

You can sell a couple pieces at the deadline and still make a playoff push at the same time.

You should be getting two slaps. One, for no trigger warning about posting the young know-nothing boy; and two, for suggesting they can make a trade and not imediately implode the team.

Seriously though, middle draft picks are even more valuable this year. With scouting so wonky, you could end up with a second round quality player being chosen in the fourth round.

Blues traded Stastny at the deadline. Won the cup the next year with that extra first rounder in their pocket. When you have depth in your organization you can overcome the loss of a player to add to your future reserves.

As well, if the Canucks acquire more picks/prospects, they could potentially use those acquisitions to help move contracts – assuming they had any bad contracts on the books worth moving out.

With three regular forwards out and taking 7 of 8 points on an Eastern road trip.

lol I was actually accused of Blaming Holtby which I never did. All I said was Demko should have started and it was spun as me blaming the goalie. It's on the team's play for not closing the game out in regulation at 4-3 not Holtby.

Nice Carol. Never really thought of the Vesey to Leivo comparison but it's a pretty good one. Similar types of games.

You did miss a "d" in didn't 2nd paragraph from the bottom. top line

If Gaudette is going to continue to play centre for a while on the 4th line. I wouldn't mind him being reunited with Roussel and Virtanen to see if they can regain a bit of offence they had with each other last season.

lol Leivo plays a heavier game/hard on pucks type of forecheck.

Vesey...does not.

Funny. Bacon sandwich has been my Sunday morning go-to for as long as I can remember.

Speaking of soggy mess; yesterday’s postings were magical.

Just went back to Horvats draft. I know it doesn't matter but Shea Theodore got picked 2 after Shinkaruk. Oy vey
