Sorokin in his last 7 games is 7-0 with a 1.429 GAA. While he certainly has let in a few soft goals he is playing a lot better each game, and while trading Varly this summer sounds absurd.. if Sorokin continues to improve and keeps putting up stats like this his contract will get more expensive this summer. If he gets to a point where he is making a lot more than his current contract one of the 2 will have to be traded.

so as absurd as you think it is that we would trade Varly... it may have to happen b/c of $$.

He is expansion exempt. I think the whole point of them signing Schneider is you have to have one goalie exposed to expansion draft. Schneider will be our exposed goalie.

I think at least a few of his wins are the team playing really well in front of him. This isn’t a knock he has gotten better each game but he isn’t there yet. That’s actually a good thing his ceiling is high and I think he’ll reach it.

Yes for sure. Goalies dont even move when he shoots no screen just a blast at the net. The shootout goal the goalie never moved. He will be the face of the franchise in a year or two.

I agree with everything you said.. Hopefully as our goalie coaches continue to work with him and he gets used to the size of the ice he continues to improve. He certainly has the right pedigree coming in to the league after how dominant he was in KHL. If Greco and crew can get him to get better on some angles and rebound issues he will be a stud. (certainly looks better then a lot of other young goalies in our division this year that were supposedly the next Carey Price).

Honestly Wahlstrom may have a better chance getting 50 goals in a Weight type system where defense is optional imho.
