Yea I still like him also Hickey looked good out there maybe they don't need a depth d man as much as now as he has a lot of experience and can still play
- Upstate_isles

Maybe a right handed d man. Hickey and Aho both left. It’s not ideal having guys play their off d position. Need another right handed forward in top six too. I’m not a fan of three L’s on Nelson line.

Said the same thing. If he can maintain that level of play it gives Lou the option of investing assets and cap space somewhere else.

Always liked Hickey and he has playoff experience too. I think showing he can still step in and play is huge for what this team does at the deadline

He's a RFA at the end of the year. I would think a 1st and a prospect. Or a 2 decent prospects 1 of which is ready to make the jump.

1st is not going to be worth that much this year unless your in the top 5. Not a deep draft at all. Plus Bridgeport is a mess.

Islanders have to sign Cizikas Sorokin MDC and Pelech this summer. So we really cant take on anyone. Only money coming off the books is boychuk LTIR and the player we lose to Seattle. Also Hickey had a great game yesterday 2 assists and shut down the Flyers. I would keep Hickey in full time and when Dobson Returns waive Mayfield or place him on non roster.

Yeah, but we could always flip it for something else. But true the draft isn't looking very deep this year.

Islanders have mostly defensive prospects in Bridgeport. I would seriously doubt they part with Wahlstrom. Only player I would consider is McDavid and that is pushing it.

That's cool, was just wondering, looked like we may be tearing it down again.

Hope your team turns it around. I would suspect the gm is next to be removed

I don't know, it's a sh!t show. The Pegula's need to find a President and set a budget and just get out of the way.

Botterill was fired last year who hired Krueger so I’m thinking that Adam’s is going to get more than 8 months to evaluate what is needed to turn things around in Buffalo imho.

Don’t know if they’re able to do that honestly. We had Wang here for years who kept The Islanders on the Island, however other than that he just couldn’t disconnect himself from trying to manage every aspect of the team and only hired and kept people who would be “ Yes Men “.
Seems like The Pugula’s are the same way and unfortunately things may not change before they go.

Maybe, they did it with there football team, and it's worked. They just can't seem to get that premise with there hockey team.

#Isles rookie netminder Ilya Sorokin is currently on a 7-game win streak. He has a 1.43 GAA and a .938 SV% over that span.

Now perhaps is it just me, but I feel as though those numbers are more indicative of his quality of competition and the overall team play in front of him.

Don’t get me wrong, absolutely love the guy. But to my eye he’s getting the easier outings.

Calder and Art Ross, before he played game 1

Seriously I agree with your post 100%. That said he’s obviously getting more comfortable, although his rebound control is a bit erratic for me.
