I guess we don’t know what is said behind closed doors but just watching the games , ghost has arguably been our best Dmen as of late . How much flack could he have gotten and besides the rangers game, was anything that egregious
- ClaudeFather

I agree 100 % with your last couple comments about Ghost...I have to wonder if something else is at play. Some sort of discipline? Not for anything off the ice, but rather for following certain directions on the ice. This team has been under mounting pressure and perhaps it’s something we won’t know because it’s nothing on the surface. Some coaches just don’t like certain players. Some players make it known they don’t really like the coach or the direction he’s getting....anyways just spit balling.

Today’s Flyers Daily podcast with the Wade Allison interview is a good one. It’s worth the listen. Kid has a great head on his shoulders. Future leadership group. Hopefully he stays healthy and gets playing experience with the Phantoms for the rest of this season. What a shot!

Yeah kid I keep pulling for

I am not as high on his play as many here but am still surprised he was scratched.

Just spitballing as well:

Provorov/Braun has looked more stable than most other first pairings.

Sanheim-Myers they don't want to mess with. Besides, those guys, contrary to what we may think, have about average Corsi #s as a pair.

And Gus-Prosser have one of the highest Corsi/Fenwicks of all pairings, though based on only about 18 mins of play together.

So, could be elimination by that route.

In my view, Provorov has had a disappointing season overall. The Flyers are having to overplay Braun. Braun gets criticized but he can play on the 3rd pair for me anytime. You can do a lot worse.
- MJL

Braun had a rough start but is the only D that has played to his potential. Provy has treated the puck like a grenade

To potential no, that’s Braun. Overall yeah ghost has been the best

In a normal length season would we see this as growing pains for the young D and team? Would we hold hope they would use it to be stronger down the stretch?

I’m not gonna lie to ya...I’m not a big fan of of the analytics world. I’m more of the eye test guy. It’s not hard to pick out mistakes when you watch a replay. Hockey is and always will be a game of mistakes. Most systems are designed to create chances and force mistakes. The team that does the best job at those two things while taking the most advantage mostly wins.
I’m not discounting the analytics world, because in a lot of cases it serves a purpose. In a league so tight between winning and losing every little advantage helps.

Martin should get a penalty for that. Clutterbuck pushed him in to the goalie.

I’ve got the isles feed. Goring is a senile homer. He’s arguing that it should have been a penalty. The d hit him into the goalie. Also, why no penalty for Martins reaction? Allowed to just hit him while he’s down?
