Same. I’m just saying if they decided to go that route I wouldn’t mind it. Its just time to try something else. - hereticpride
Not going to lie...I’m startled that Fletcher hasn’t tried to do more. I’m not saying go out and start to unload all your future assets but it was obvious they needed a solid replacement for Niskanen on the back end, a sniper type winger and some more physical players coming into this year. He’s addressed nothing.

I wanna offer my opinion on Nolan Patrick.
First, I’m a Nolan Patrick guy. The only thing to me that stands out that I don’t like is his skating. You can question his decision making. Behind the back blind passes. A lot of players do this but definitely looks bad when they don’t work.
My issue is, his lack of organizational help with his development. I have no issue with putting him on the fourth line to work things out or scratching him for a game. It’s the rushing him to the NHL at age 18. He probably doesn’t deserve PP time right now and a guy like Scott Laughton does. It’s a lot of mixed messages on his progression. Lately I’ve noticed him on the PK a little, after years of not using him there. Why? What’s his defined role? I think they use him weird. - SuperSchennBros
For the record I really hoped Patrick would bring it this year after an adjustment period, but its hasn't panned out. Everyone tells me how talented this kid is, but I don't see it. I don't watch him practice and I bet he looks great in shootouts, but during a game he has shown next to nothing. But this is not totally surprising. When he got drafted the knock against Patrick was 1. his skating and 2. his pass first mentality, and he have seen this abundantly since he has entered the league. Maybe the Flyers (Hextall actually) rushed him into the lineup because physically he was ready and was drafted so high. But the bottom line, he has not developed into anything that I am sure the Flyers had hoped. If I could trade him for a piece, I would. |

Watching Patrick in junior it obvious how much he used his size to his advantage. I’d like to see him put on some more muscle still playing at the NHL level. He’s still very young and I see flashes of great passing ability. I’d like to hang onto him and just let him develop in the 3C role. |

How many times do we see a puck up for grabs and there's no Flyers anywhere near it? A friggin lot. That's how many times. |

I mean, if he has no trade value I guess I would hang onto him, but if teams value him I would trade him. After all, you can trip over 3C players in this league. We have some good centers coming, including hopefully Frost if he recovers completely, Foerster and O'Brien. |

Yeah but he’s 22. Sometimes it takes player to the age 22 before getting into the league. He’s not a man, he’s a boy. He’s a developing player. I would argue power forwards take the longest to develop. |

He might have been rushed. Hextall dealt Schenn with the idea Patrick would be ready. I think Patrick’s best year was his rookie year. So maybe he was rushed. But honestly some of this has to be on the player. Yes he missed the entire year with a headache or concussion but he’s being given every opportunity to succeed this year and I see a kid that doesn’t want to engage...until he is willing to play as hard as his opponent he’ll continue to be a liability. |
