You guys are brutal, AG played a solid game, defense didnt pick up the men in front. It happens with a young team. In 3 years nobody will remember these games. |

Here we go back to the thread blowing up after a loss. They win and it’s quiet in here - Rangers99
Why do you always say this?? Look at the page count after wins. Its a ton more comments.
Personally this loss doesn't bother me at all. Thems the breaks. They played a really good game. Two unfortunate rebounds. |

We can't win every game 9-0.
I thought the team played pretty good defensively. The young kids are learning.
Can't complain. |

The Laf/Kakko situation really is an emotional rollercoaster. You don’t miss on top 2 picks twice in 2 years, not possible. The organization clearly has a plan for their development which is backward to most teams handling of top picks, where they let their offensive game loose to start, and let them learn the defensive side later. Really risky plan by the Rangers IMO, as confidence is hard to come by and these kids are scrutinized heavily every game by fans and the media. I’m still confident it’s coming, but (frank)ing eh man, let’s go already! |

Everyone expected both players out of the gate to perform points wise. Unfortunately the problem with both is they are underwhelming skaters who don’t want to carry the puck and create. Once they start shooting
More and driving to the net things will change. |

Theres another part to this.
Lets not forget, this team isnt a last place team that doesnt have depth and is rebuilding from the ground up. This isnt a team that doesnt have a top flight LW where LAF can slot in, eat minutes and they can build the team around.
As far as Kakko go, maybe this is the plan, maybe the plan is, hey kid, we know you got talent, but if youre gonna compete at this level we need you to be able to play 200 ft on a smaller sheet.
Were expecting to see these kids take strides this season after having last season cut short cold turkey, come in with no training camp or preseason and be studs out the gate. Doesnt work like that, not in hockey.
Again, LAF and Kakko have been forced to play 3rd line duties which usually puts them against the other teams top lines and has them play defensively a lot. They recently have slotted LAF at C on the PP2 which is interesting. Makes me wonder what else they have in mind. |

Good response. I guess it just comes down to patience which this fan base, including myself has little of. |

I agree Kakko and LAFs performances are based on the coaching staffs emphasis on defense and playing a 200 foot game. Now I'm not saying I agree, or disagree with that, I just think that's the reason.
Look at Laine, he was turned loose since day 1 in Winnipeg, played on the PP, and scored like crazy. Now he got traded to a team with a coach who is defense first, and it's not going so great, and after 5 years in the league he has gotten benched at lease a couple of times so far. |

Really tough loss. They held one of the best teams in the NHL to 18 shots on their home ice, and lost in last 7 mins due to 2 goals that had some puck luck. Shyt happens.
Young team learning how to win. Lets hope they come right back today and rock them hard again.
Tom Wilson will be back, our youngsters better have their heads up.
LETS GO RANGERS! |

We did play really well, and completely shut them down for 53 mins. Those were 2 bad rebounds, but the real issue was weak coverage in front of the net. |

Lindgren both goals. Not sure what happen.
When are the naysayers going to realize how young this team is? Reading disorca and vin I swear I wanna kill myself with every post. You both act like this a vet team, in the 4th year of contention and they’ve played 75 playoff games as a group already. Relax (frank)tards and have some damn patience. And for god sakes post when they win!!! You both are worse then trolls, remember that |

Heres a player comparison… Tyler Seguin.
He was drafted 2nd overall and through the course of the regular season had 11g and 11a for a massive 22 pts in 74 games. Then something clicked come the playoffs. Maybe it was coaching, maybe it was just him but he opened up.
It will come, unfortunately we may have to wait til next year to see it all put together. |

I guess I should preface that by saying Im an operating room nurse and was the nurse for Michael Haley when he had his sports hernia surgery. The same surgeon did Erik Karlsson’s surgery and has been consulted by quite a few players around the NHL I cant talk about. |

Maloney just said the Rangers are dead last in the league in faceoff percentage at 44.9%. That’s atrocious |
