I think that looks fanfvckingtastic, yes. ERod can take a hike but if he doesn't I don't think he's been a negative factor to the Geno line... Perhaps I'm wrong.. But in a more sheltered role he should be ok I guess haha - MattStrat
ERod would be fine as a 12-13 forward that moves around the line up as needed. |

When Janko is no longer there and is replaced by Staal you've greatly improved your on ice product. Nobody is expecting a career resurrection at 35 but the guy can still play. He's great on FO's and PK. Was the captain of cup winner and maybe hungry to taste again. He and Zucker have been on the same line before. I think he'd be a good addition. - MattStrat
I think that's a big part of the idea with Staal. If Zucker is going to be the key guy on that line, he and Staal have a proven track record together and wouldn't need any time to learn each other's games.
Two things if they go that route. First, is Sully actually going to play them that way, or will he keep trying to force Malkin and Zucker together. Second, you basically have to play McCann in the top 6, presumably with Malkin. No control over the 1st, but I'm ok with the second. McCann adds a defensive presence to the line and he has a good shot when his linemates create for him. |

I have zero issues with McCann on wing in the top 6. He's smart and fast, good without puck, and I never really notice the guy in a bad way. Sometimes don't notice him at all haha but I see much more good than bad from him...if only he had a bit more finish...

I actually didn't even think about Staal and Zuck playing together before. So that's a pro. Idk I can see Sully going back to McCann-Geno-Kap if he has other good options at center. Especially if McCann and Kap find a chemistry together while Geno is out. That line was playing good together, now let's see if it was all Geno or do Can and Kap have a little chemistry as well. |

Drew O'Connor played center tonight in WBS. Good to know that's an option if he becomes an NHL player down the line. |

New Jersey has two things we don't have, speed and physicality. This is going to be a tough weekend. |

He played/filled in at center at Dartmouth. So it was good to see him in a different position. I think next season they are looking for the 3rd/4th line to be
Legare - O'Connor - Poulin.
(they are happy with Angello though he has been a great surprise for the 4th line). I think the prospects get a chance at some point next season though.
I think POJ will be a mainstay next season as well. Which does give us tons of options.
I don't think Hextall is going to be aggressive with trading picks or prospects. I could see him making a 1-1 deal or potentially trading a lower round pick for a player. I don't see him giving up our 2nd round pick or any of the top prospects at the deadline (unless he is landing a younger talented player). |

I think that is what we need in FA this offseason. Someone who brings a net front presence/grit to the team.

McCann-Staal-Zucker would be a really nice third line with offensive talent and responsible two way play. Adding Staal and getting a LW for Malkin when he returns would make this team quite competitive. |

Ryan's just a middle six forward. Might as well just keep everyone on their natural side and have McCann being the 2LW if you go that rout. I'm looking for a bigger upgrade in a Pettersson + move. |

Do you still think this team right now has more talent than Jersey is putting out on the ice? |

My understanding is no. He played there some last year in Minnesota because everyone was a LW and they were trying to push him to waive his NTC. |

I wasn't sure if they saw O'Connor as a potential C. ZAR also played all 3 spots in college, and I don't think they think he can play RW, let alone C.
I hope the prospects get a chance. Still think POJ could be breaking in now. They have to cut salary so that might force them unless they just plan to fill out the line up with more Jankowski and ERod type signings
I hope you're right about Hextall's mindset, and I think you are. |

Thanks! He has a history of getting younger talent. I wonder if someone like Dylan Strome would be of interest to Hextall? He was a previous top draft pick and is still young. We already traded Maatta there in the past to Chicago for one of their wings. Maybe a Strome for Pettersson type swap? |
