I think that's less likely having no real LTIR for Geno. I'd be looking into Staal right now. - Rinosaur
Ok ok ...im fine with that too... |

I think a move like that would be wise right now knowing it may only be a few weeks.

Yeah, week to week means he could be back next week...I know that's probably not likely but not that far fetched either. All depends on the rehab. |

But then he follows up with this:
I'm not sure what to make of that, but I'll definitely take week to week. - Rinosaur
This is the same guy that said this in the same press conference: https://twitter.com/pensi.../1372977460510396424?s=21
None of what Sullivan says means anything. Malkin is week to week is all we can really take away from this |

So what's with the Zohan kid? Is he supposed to be a find? - Rinosaur
I've been joking about him, but in the current situation, I'd like to give Zohorna a shot. The 2 WBS I got to watch, he just jumped out every shift as the best player on the ice. This is of course a terrible way to get behind a prospect. These European UFAs are all kinds of random for NHL success. |

They have nothing to lose at this point IMO. The fourth liners are so terrible. How much worse can he be?

Didn't see it mentioned, but Zucker started skating on his own yesterday. I know his season hasn't bern great, but right now Sam Lafferty is a top 9 wing. |

Zucker has skated for two days on his own, but I'm sure he's still a ways away.

Skating is first step obviously and with no setbacks a week or two later non contact...he'll be back within a month. I say grab Staal now for his return and have a dandy 3rd line consisting of those two. |

Just to comment on Zucker for a second. I've gone back and forth with him and his place on the team.
I think Zucker is a very good player and he started very strong for the Pens last year: 12 points in 15 games. Against MTL he was one of our better players, scored two goals while playing on a line with Geno.
I think Zucker it's entirely possible that Zucker, like Geno, just wasn't in game shape yet and probably needs to Geno to be Geno for him to excel. |

Yea that's a possibility too. But with this injury I think it would be best to try and have Zucker-McCann be a steady part of a third line. |

Or this. Are you thinking?:

I feel Staal is going to be like Brassard if he joins us. I would rather get Glendening. Or Dzingel as a winger. I think McCann can fill in for Malkin and possibly as our 4th line center option when Malkin comes back from injury. I think Dzingel would fill in well with Kapanen and Malkin until Zucker comes back from injury. I wouldn't mind Watson or Dzingel on the 4th line instead of Sceviour. Angello is the only bigger body we have. I think we need some size on the 4th line. |

Brassard and Staal are 2 different situations. Brassard was 30 when he came here and was still 2nd line material. Staal is no longer that. Not saying that I exactly want Staal but it's definitely different. |

Madden said he was told 3 weeks for Malkin. Could be worse I guess. I don't see how they get by with no Bluegs and Malkin for "weeks". Hextall needs to get something competent ASAP. |

I think that looks fanfvckingtastic, yes. ERod can take a hike but if he doesn't I don't think he's been a negative factor to the Geno line... Perhaps I'm wrong.. But in a more sheltered role he should be ok I guess haha |

Could be so much worse. At 3 weeks he'd still have around 13/14ish games left in regular season...around what it took for him to get going this season. Now he's getting rested as well.
I agree about Hex. Sooner than later, please. |

More so meant a lot of the fan base is calling for Staal to come here in hopes he will resurrect his career. I think he won't help this team move the needle. Much like Brassard didn't after he was acquired. |

I don't see good o'le Ontario farm boy Staal being a diva like Frenchie Brassard. I think he was 3C'n for the Wild for extended periods of time, as well as wing, but could be wrong. |

When Janko is no longer there and is replaced by Staal you've greatly improved your on ice product. Nobody is expecting a career resurrection at 35 but the guy can still play. He's great on FO's and PK. Was the captain of cup winner and maybe hungry to taste again. He and Zucker have been on the same line before. I think he'd be a good addition. |
