Certainly not advocating for a trade, but what would everyone be comfortable with in return for Buch? I would rather Have Buch/Kakko/Kravs than Kakko/Kravs/Gaut, but would understand if they traded Buch.
At this point, I would be upset if anything less than a first or a very good prospect came back.
I also think there's a chance if he were to be traded that he would think about resigning with us, even though this never happens and we say it all the time lol |

Bean I wanted to write this yesterday but now it’s good timing. Why would we trade a guy that’s finally unlocking what we all have been waiting for. The kid needs an “A” instead of a trade. He’s a huge part of the heart and soul of this team.
Edit: I wouldn’t of wrote this last season even when they were clicking on all cylinders. But for whatever it’s worth it’s a complete 360. |

The biggest thing with Buch, his value will never be higher for a trade. Cheap contract, point per game player. Has another year left. If you are going to sell high now is the time to do it.
But it is risky. Until Kratsov/Kakko prove they can score at this level, its hard to move him. |

Buch is moving towards untouchable territory, and Ive been as critical of him as anyone
he's just been phenomenal
I really dont know the answer to what they will do about all the RWs

My man!
I agree. Buch is still not quite 26 and is a leader for this team now, at least on the ice. A 3rd round pick putting up 0.63ppg is great for the club.
Hard to do with their enormous potential, but I am for trading one of the kids. Probably Gaut. Too bad, he does look like he will be good. But, there are simply too many viable options. |

Exactly. The other "problem" is his next contract. If they keep Buch, to me that would signal a change in philosophy regarding the rebuild, because you're right. He's probably the perfect candidate for selling high. |

I think the part most of us are missing here is why this is a "good problem" to have. No matter which way they decide, we should come out looking good!!
Is there a possibility the person moved becomes better than those we keep? Absolutely. But, there is a very small chance the move really ends up hurting us.
There is a big difference between "losing" a trade and being hurt by a trade. |

So what would it take for you to be okay with trading him? If he were on the block, he might be the most sought after F. Scoring, defense, special teams. Guy does it all... |

At some point the rebuild has to end and that means resigning players like Buch instead of moving contracts to make room for more kids.
Thank god Lias pulled what he did or we might be stuck with him as well. |

I am not against keeping Buch at all. It's just going to be so tough. Trouba, Kreider, Panarin already locked up long term. Then you have Zib dilemma and the need for another top 6 center in the next year or so.
On top of all of this the cap is staying flat for a few years.
Glad I don't have to make these decisions. Cause if you trade Buch and Kakko/Kratsov don't pan out you are screwed if he takes off elsewhere.
But man his value would never be higher for a trade. |

I'd be interested in a young potential franchise center still on his ELC, maybe like an Alex Turcotte or a Marco Rossi
