Heard that Sutter is being promoted to GM and Krueger is Calgary destined.
- Makita

They already tried Sutter at GM, didn’t work out so well. Probably one of the reasons Treliving actually agreed to hire Sutter, didn’t have to worry about him being promoted.

Not sure if this is what stirred up the former players tweet yesterday, in regards to hitting. Both appear to be clean hots, although Tanev might have charged a bit.
One guy gets nothing, one guy gets 5 and a game.

you're being too diplomatic. that was a good hit and a complete BS call.

who is the league catering to by going in this kind of "no hit league" direction? i've always thought that even the casuals like (clean) hits.

I agree, Tanev’s hit looked worse. I think the refs called it boarding. I think they did because he came across the ice - ie hit him into the boards. The Malkin one the were moving in opposite directions. Crosby is just being a baby, I’m sure someone will explain it to him.

hit him into the boards? lol - he hit him over 5 feet away from the boards and the momentum of the hit took him into the boards.

if this is the direction the league wants to go in, let's just set the rules so that players can't hit without informing the other player prior and getting his approval first.

As I mentioned yesterday, while on this same subject, the league is losing longtime fans, because of the lack of physicality and the horrible reffing.
I was a referee for about 15 years and I can not figure out what is and what isn't a penalty in this league anymore.

Yes please, but not until this season is over, send Benning with him.

Start fresh next season.

It might have been a 2 minute charging penalty, even that is questionable.

it just seems like it's more of the same from the league and yet completely different.

more of the same: inconsistent calls especially in supplementary discipline. it seems that they (league with suspensions and refs with penalty calls) look at the affect more than the cause. even in the tanev play, the call gets made because the player who gets hit awkwardly slides into the boards. it's not the hit but rather how he awkwardly fell that leads to the call. the affect rather than the cause is what caused the penalty (imo.)

completely different: more and more hits that i would never have questioned are being called penalties.

Don’t forget the Boston rule. You hit a Boston player hard and the league will make sure you pay.

Buffalo finally fired Ralph Kreuger., is Green next?

The team has won 6/8 and you think Green is getting canned?

Sorry, I’m not an English major. What I meant was he hit him “in the direction of the” boards. One player moving “north-south” the other player moving “east-west”. That is why I think the ref called the penalty.

True. Which was why it was good to see Willson take that run at Carlo. And OV spear that guy as well. You want to take liberties with OV you get what you get. Good for WAS to give Boston a taste.
