Yeah, this just isn't the year to get worked up over the young guys. Any of them. Nothing is clicking on a consistent basis except for the PK and occasionally team defense.

That's why I'm just going to hope for small little wins. Like last night. I thought Tarmo played well (nice assist) and Bread scored a goal. Maybe next game I'll focus in on Kakko

Exactly. Look at all the changes in personnel on this team this year. If you really take stock, it's been a lot of young guys.
Miller - 21
Laf - 19
JJ - Just why...whyyyy - who cares
Blackwell - 27 (1st real consistent playing time)
Rooney - 27 (
Bitteto - 30
Taurmo - 23
Gauthier - 23
Hajek - 23

See a theme of inexperience here?
Then add injury time, new defense coach, lack of training camp, shortened season to that inexperience. How the heck can you seriously expect them to just come in a say, "I got this" when they don't know what "this" is yet because they are just learning.
Aside from 7 players on the active roster, all are learning their way into the NHL. That's 15 players on the active roster that are new to the NHL. I say give them a little grace.

Rant done. Look at what you bastards made me do. Be serious. (frank). Back to my ridiculous posts. Loo

I was quite happy with Tarmo. Gautier looked real good at times, but bottom line is you have to learn to control your stick. The coach simply can't risk giving up PP's, so he kinda shot himself in the foot there.
Miller had an off-night from the get go. First time, as far as I remember. His return to form will make a difference, as well.

Like Matt said, it felt like the entire d corp was trying to step their game up because Fox was out.

I'm probably in the minority, but I thought Trouba on PP1 was fine. Brought simplicity to that unit. Fox's ability to keep the puck in the net and dish the puck was missing though.

maybe if Trouba actually tried to shoot wide he'd hit the net, change it up

I thought Miller had his worst game of his career

AV's a great coach, I am sure they've scouted him pretty heavily and seen some of Kandre's tendencies, now it's our coaching staff's time to work with K'Andre to tighten up some of his flaws

- jimbro83

Yea really rough night. Some really poor decisions when it came to pinching and trying to keep the puck in the zone

The Gauthier goal was the play of the year so far, (and yes, I did cream my pants lol). I agree he has to watch his stick, nothing was on purpose tho. He was in a battle for the puck

I’m sure he’ll sit next game tho

He does the shoot to pass thing too often. I get why though with Tip Master Kreider in front.

Still have no clue how Kreider missed that 3rd period goal. Nice save by Hart but he should have just waited an extra second and would have had an open net

I said it last night. Over all, I thought Trouba and Smith played very sound hockey and made plays they need to. And he did not look terrible on the PP. He is a different style than Fox, but that is not fair to knock him for not being like Fox, like I read some comments from last night. He did well.

they never have a game where all 4 of Kreider, Zib, Strome and Panarin have a great game

it's always just two of them

Oh yea its over...not enough games and with teams getting points every night its just impossible honestly.

But man I would love to have a healthy Shesty to see what they can do. Kinkaid and Gerorgiev can't put back to back good games together

I mean I’m disappointed we didn’t get the 2 points. But, come on. We’re so desparate to blame Quinn that we complain about putting out Strome, who has 10 points in his last 6 games including one tonight and Kreider, who leads the team in goals?
- Tonybere

Yeah, I have my criticisms with Kreids but anyone arguing that Kreider should not be out there, when he is our hottest (frank)ing scorer right now, should eat a shotgun

Yeah, I thought Trouba did ok. The first PP he did very well. The next one, he mishandled the pass at the blue line. poopty, but it's one play. I think I even saw Gretzky make a mistake once.

Seriously. I try to be as unbiased as possible, but the 1st person I want out there is Kreids

Hate to be the one to kick off prospect discussions, but what's the deal with that Raty guy? I thought he was supposed to be a stud. He's fallen way down draftboards, which makes me think he'd be a good C for us to take around the 10ish spot if Johnson is already selected.

This whole stretch of him scoring goals, only one was a legit nice shot, everything else is him sitting in front of the net which does not help on a 3 on 3 situation. If you ARE gonna have him out there you want to have him out there with 2 shooters so he can disrupt in front of the net because hes not gonna be the guy to stick handle around the defense and create chances. Its not that I dont think Kreider shouldnt be out there, he needs to be out there with the appropriate people. Should be Chytil (Zibanejad if he ever finds his old self) and Trouba with Kreider.
