Looks like Chevy has been reading the UltimateJet’s posts. Talking about going all in! I love it!
While he’s at it, maybe he want to recommend that Harkins get into the line-up as well. Since Maurice loves playing centers on the wing so much, why not run a third line of Harkins-Copp-Appleton? Lowry on the fourth with Perrault and Lewis could be that energy line that Maurice seem to love so much. |

Demelo our best D tonight and it’s not even close!!!!!! |

Ehlers is definitely proving me right as well! Losing Laine has been great for him. The guy is shooting more and coming into his own. He reminds more and more of Bure and Kariya. I also think Dubois played strong tonight and it really looks like that PLD-Connor-Ehlers line is coming together nicely. |

Yea Ross, DD better than usual. Peeked at box score, almost all zeroes across the board for "Double D" - hope that Seattle were impressed.
Not that happy with Jets effort and another late goal to give away a point. PLD, Connor and Ehlers were lights out and Helle was Helle. Other than that?
But a "W" is a "W" - and maybe the Jets will re-discover their legs when they play McJesus! |

I tend to agree that Ehlers has emerged from Laines shawdow, although I am a Laine fan, but I agree with you on this.
I also think Connor has also emerged as well and just thank the hockey gods that neither of these two were traded. Ultimatley and a bit sadly, I always thought it would be Laine that would be scarficed in a trade, but these two seem to be liberated now to shoot the puck.
I was thinking a good bounce back for DD, and then the Habs scored late, again. Overall he played better but I am keeping stanley over DD. |

Will just make a comment on the 4th line. Perreault is working hard in this role in limited minutes but if you watch him closley, he is not just ruunning around and you can see he is very aware of position and where he needs to be.
Not saying that MP is worthy of his 4 mill contract but he is making the most out of 11 mins/ night and adding some points in the process. I say he gets a league minimum contract next year somewhere. |

Thinking he will get about 1.5 from somewhere, maybe Jets. Veteran leadership, can sub on the pk and pp, can play 3/4th line role regularly and slip up the lineup if needed in an injury situation. Very versatile and useful.

I'm also in that camp that says that Laine was not only a distraction to Ehlers but also a distraction to the team. He was quite a moody player and when he was off he would throw all sorts of temper tantrums which most likely wore on the team. No doubt he's a great player and will have a bright future but he and the Jets were better off to part ways.
As for the game. A good effort by the Jets. Nice to see PLD's line clicking again. I thought the Jets had more high danger chances but a lucky bounce or two saved MTl a few times. Last night Stanley ( the Not so Friendly Giant) had an off-game with quite a few mistakes. He was also walked around twice . Nonetheless, he's been very good this season so he gets a pass.

A good thing about having a lead for most of the night last night was that we could roll 4 lines and hopefully stay fresher than the oil for the tilt tonight.
Stanley was on point with tape-to-tape passes last night, didn't like his read at the offensive blue line on the Daneault goal. Also didn't like Pionk's read on the Gallagher goal. |

While I know PLD is supposedly a natural center and will ultimately do well at that position with the Jets , it not lost on me that he generated a lot more offence playing with Wheeler and Scheif on wing while Statsny played very well at center with Ehlers and Connor. We could see that change from time to time in games where Maurice needs to shake up the offense. - jetsnation
I concur. Scheiffs and Stats both are ridiculously talented when it comes to digging out pucks behind the net, and batting pucks out of mid-air. They seem to do it half a dozen times every night and they help get the puck out of the D-zone so efficiently. PLD has shown some lazy tendencies defensively, which get sheltered on the wing. He is a powerhouse on the wing and I don't mind this one bit. I am still a fan of the PLD trade, but he has some room to grow. Good things is, he gets to watch Stats and Scheiffs (masters of the little things) every night. |

I am a big fan of PoMo, but his "loyalty program" has become more than stale. Play the guys who are on their game. Stanley is rock solid defensively, and generating more offense as his confidence grows. When Beaulieu is healthy, he'd better not bump Stanley out of the lineup. Stanley is far better in every situation. |

The only top 4 D we have in this Jets lineup is Pionk and Demelo. It’s to bad they can’t play together cause then at least we’d have one decent pairing. Instead one has to cover for the unbelievable slow Forbot and the other has to carry Morrisey around now. Sad news people, Morrisey is not remotely close to being good yet this season. He has been Beaulieu bad!!!!!!

No one is slower then DeMelo, he's not a top 4 at all, decent 3rd pair guy, that's it. |

I have a trade that you might like Ross:
To NSH: Josh Morrissey, Sami Niku, 2021 first round pick
To WPG: Ryan Ellis, Mattias Ekholm
What do you think about that?
Plus Maurice will like this trade as he likes older guys. |

It’s not even close, I bet Demelo could skate backwards faster than Forbot forwards and if you think Demelo is bottom pair, what does that say about the rest of our D cause he’s clearly better than everyone but pionk |

Haha, gawd no, DeMelo can barely skate backwards at all, he's so weak idk wtf you see in him. DeMelslo is a sluggish skater and too small to win a board/puck battle, I hope Seattle wants him!
This D core is bottom 5 in the league, have been saying it for awhile but Jets fanboys on here will argue it but it's a fact! |

D core is bottom 5 with Maurice. With a coach like Trotz it's top 5. |

Sorry Ultimate it's not, it's just not good, yes some system changes would help but it's just not good enough, they only have two legit top 4 dmen one of who is really struggling and playing like a #6/7 dman in Morrissey and the rest are best suited to third pair duties, honestly think they should give Morrissey a couple games off, he's really struggling and it looks like it's taking a toll on him mentally, he looks gassed.

the number one D core in the league this year for limiting scoring chances is the Avs.
they also have the smallest, youngest and possibly fastest D core in the NHL.

Seeing this makes me wonder what Harkins did to deserve taxi squad purgatory. He definitely played well enough to roll in occasionally at minimum. |

Well it's the Maurice way. He makes young guys get cold and then expects them to come into the line-up and produce. He's essentially Potma'ing Harkins. It's funny then afterwards, Maurice wonders why some players confidences are shattered. |
