He should do a lot of things. The problem is more often then not he doesn’t. I guess I shouldn’t say anything because he’ll have ten good games this year.

Third line for him?

Josh Bailey needs to be taken off the pp. he slows it down and is directly responsible for making it bad more so then any other player on the team. It’s plain as day. If Lee was still in the line up he should be benched not that it would ever happen.

Caps deserve credit. They played last night and had a slow start but still managed to take over the game. The islanders had control and gave it up.

Samsonov really bailed them out in the 1st.

The team as a whole can be pretty frustrating when it comes to just shooting the puck but the 2nd line is the worst at it. Look at Martin, even he’s got 5 because he shoots.

Leddy and Pulock playing catch at the blueline with less than a minute, down 2 goals epitomizes that issue.

- potvin05

Pulock needs to learn to get his body in position to shoot faster. He seems to wait for the perfect pass to launch a shot wide. Not sure which Islanders forward it was at the end but they tipped the puck back to Pulock who had a ton of space but it was in front of him so he didn't even try to square up and shoot. It's not hard to defend a guy like that if they take so long to set up...

Yeah why not. I don’t hate the kid I just don’t think he’s as wonderful as some do. I don’t think he’ll ever be a consistent player. It gets frustrating watching him come flying into the opposing zone and skate into the boards. Cough up the puck. Skate back. That’s literally him just about every shift. He doesn’t even try to find space he takes himself out of the play when he’s not on.

Slapshot only really unlike wally that can shoot different shots from different angles and different releases

Pulock’s shot isn’t accurate and he’s definitely snake bitten but the rest of his game is pretty awesome almost elite imo. I have a hard time picking apart his game when he’s bringing those other things to the table. Yeah we need some more goals from the blue line but there’s some negative within other players on this team thankfully none of them are defenseman imo. Mayfield and especially Leddy (minus tonight) have been great after a real rough start.

Pulock defensively has been magnificent. Can't complain about any of the d corps in that regard. Offensively his accuracy is awful, but it's hard to even get hung up on him when Matt Martin is outscoring 2/3 of your second line...combined

Yep that’s my point. I think Nelson has stepped up a bit since Lee went down imo. He looks more engaged to me. I honestly believe Beau who just constantly takes himself out of the play and Bailey who has been downright terrible are dragging him down somewhat. I think trotz has to break them up or do something. It’s tough because you don’t want either of them infecting other lines with their crappiness

This was the first game we reallyvisibly missed Lee. We really needed his presence in front of the net and physicality along the boards on the O-zone. I think Aho did okay, but naturally missing a steady presence like Noah definitely changes our transition game.

I think Nelson's performance has been a mixed bag. He's good at getting into position to shoot and has a great shot. That said, he's too soft on the puck and tends to make weak passes or clear attempts. That may not totally be on him, since the Isles are a puck possession team and plenty of them seem to do the same thing. It just seems to me for a big guy he's extremely weak on his skates.

All of that said, he's been far and away better than his linemates, as you say.

Bailey and Beau have been big disappointments.....well Beau. I expect Bailey to suck most of the time.

But Eichel would’ve haunted him for the rest of his life because he’s a freaky ginger.

A player littlerally breaking their stick on another players back....this one was even a little worse than we're accustomed to...
