Any tips for Lou and Pellegrini on Lee being on LTIR and how to manage that?
- nyisles7

You also took a shot on me about mentioning the possiblity of trading Varly this summer. Again... I listed 5 things they could do this summer for cap relief and you bring up the one you think I am wrong and try to paint me as an idiot...

Is Staple an idiot too? B/c he mentioned that Varly being traded was an option too but less likely with Sorokin play. I guess he is an idiot too and you are the genius...

That PK subban goal was such an obvious set play... He waited forever.. flipped it to the forward right and took off up the left side. My 13 year old was saying.. "stay with Subban Brock". How does Trotz not address this?
- niteislander

They've won 9 games in a row and they were down 2 hugely important players and a pretty important one, in Dobson. I think Trotz is doing just fine.

Yes trading Varly is an absolute stupid maybe one of the stupidest things I have heard especially when sOrOk5n had played 3 games at the time. Actually it still is.

By the way sorry I took at shot at you but my God it’s soooo easy

"with Barzal looking like a Goner" ... lolol. When Barzal signs his contract the same day they put Boychuk on LTIR will u guys stop listening to the idiots who need to write something every day?
- niteislander

in 6 days right after Boychuk is allowed to be put on LTIR, if they immediately sign Barzal will you say I was right?

Oh I see.. so us being lost on OT is not something we can talk about.. understood.

I see the High school clique is in effect today.. lol. See ya.

I notice you are pretty silent on the whole Cap argument.. other than the one "Nite is right on this one" you remained completely silent on that dope going nuts on it forever... lol.

Now find the quotes where I talk about Lou not wanting to waive 5 or 6 guys to make room on cap before he is allowed to put Boychuk on LTIR.

YOu are a typical Lib.. only find the points you think u are "gotcha".. you are a complete dope.

"It also meant that Lamoriello, trying to find room for a reasonable contract for Barzal, had to deal with the Isles’ cap squeeze before his star center could sign anything. And there was no way to hurry things along.

“To be honest, there wasn’t a ton of communication between me and Lou — we knew we were going to get to me and get it done,” Barzal said. “It was an extremely respectful process. I have a ton of respect for Lou for the way he handled everything. He was up against the gun with the cap, the pandemic and he made me feel as important as ever. The whole process went well.”

Well this doesn't make sense b/c 7 says you can use LTIR.. what they heck? I thought Barzal was a goner?

No it doesn't.

In fact, it was reported that there were "discrepancies" in his testing. It means that his tests didn't give a clear answer and he was held out per league Covid protocol.

- eichiefs9

I’m doing some assuming here but I’ll bet they have to take rapid tests and if they get a positive they follow it up with a Pcr test. Rapid test are not accurate at all I’ve tested positive when I wasn’t as well as many of my colleagues. You have to verify with a pcr if you have a rapid positive. That could be what’s going on right now.

"Semyon Varlamov might have crept into the last tier if Ilya Sorokin were dominating and Varlamov had taken a backseat to the rookie, but that’s not at all what’s happened and the Isles need both guys."

Staple's last article.. brings up the same point. If Sorokin was dominating they would think about moving Varly.. especially b/c if he was dominating it would cost a lot to keep him and you can't have 2 very expensive goalies.

this was one of 5 points I brought up.(last one if fact just like Staple).. but of course it's the one u keep bringing up b/c u are a dope.

Well Staple should be laughed at for that 100%. Just a stupid idea, sorry. Varly won’t be moved this season I can assure you of that.

All it takes is contact tracing. Or an inconclusive test.

The league is being pretty vigilant about this. They suspended 4 guys from the Caps, which is a team they’re generally lenient on, for just breaking protocol.

This is just the way it’s gonna be for the rest of this season.

Thought you left. So now that you are back can you explain again how Barzal and Lou had a deal and He would be signed the day JB was put on LTIR because they couldn’t sign him prior. Please I just love that one
PS. I’m definitely on the outside of the Girls club looking in so don’t lump me into the group they may get offended.

109%, even if they think you could have been exposed to someone that might have had it. They take precautions. Who knows maybe JGP and Bellows shared a Limo home after Saturday’s game and the driver might have come into contact with a presumptive positive person? I mean no one knows except The Isles and I’m sure we won’t get the real reason with Lou in charge.

Hell, we’re probably never gonna know what exactly is wrong with Lee’s leg. They keep everything close to the vest, theyre not obligated to say anything to the press.

Address what? They are one of if not the best defensive team in the league. Even the best breakdown once in a while. If it was a chronic problem then I'm sure he would address it . Not sure what happened yesterday on one play really needs any addressing IMO.

You really are very dumb. the point of our whole argument is you can't use LTIR to be cap compliant. YOu still can't figure that out.. .no matter how many times I type it or someone else says it.. you can't seem to allow it to seep into your pea brain.

The Reason the Islanders had to Waive 7 players before the season started was b/c they could not use LTIR to be cap compliant.

This was something that Lou was trying to avoid.. he looked to trade Leo, Hickey, and others to avoid doing this ...

https://nyihockeynow.com/...ed%20by%20the%20Islanders.

Once these players were waived.. they saved enough to be cap compliant.

then once the season started they put Boychuk on LTIR. all of these players could be put back on roster, taxi squad..etc.

try reading this a few times to let it sink in... NO.. Boychuk onLTIR did not get them below the cap number..

Why do you allow yourself to get sucked into the same BS day after day on here? Just ignore the guys you don't want to deal with and you'll be surprised how much longer you can tolerate this place

They are horrific in 3-on-3. It's why they are 0-4 and should have easlily been 0-5 in 3-on-3. They lost 2 games against the pens on 3-on-3. It used to be a very strong point for this team.. They kept possession, kept opposition out there forever and then took advantage of a bad change or tired players. This year they are completely lost in OT. Butch and Brendan brought it up last night too. It's truly odd that a team this fast, this good on Defense can completely be lost all the sudden in 3-on-3.

I usually do.. but when he keeps bringing up the same point over and over and over thinking he was correct is just maddening. He was completely wrong on what he thought the cap rules were and brings it up every week like he was right..

Been on these boards since before Dee was our blogger... rarely get too heated in argument except once with Ranger Danger. I guess it means I am bored at work.

I understand that and its all true but to me I just think 3 on 3 is a crapshoot to begin with and much like MLB bullpens you just don't know how its going to be from year to year. They are a well oiled facking machine and I just think harping on their 3 on 3 flaws so far this year would be nit picking at this point, but you are not wrong about their 3 on 3 play so far

(frank)ing Ladd. I don’t know if there’s ever a reason good enough to call this guy up? I would rather play a roster spot short. Don’t give this guy the luxury or even humor the idea of having him play in the nhl. (frank) him.
