It may happen. Kind of shocked we played yesterday. I’m not sure what the leagues covid protocols are but if Dobson and Pageau both tested positive for covid(not sure if that’s the case?) and are symptomatic I would be surprised if no one else catches it. I say this not knowing what the tipping point is to quarantine a team but you would think it wouldn’t take much more?

A little insight into what happened last night. Maybe they didn’t test positive so I guess in theory there’s a possibility both Pageau and Dobson may be available Tuesday.

Yeah, that’s what I was thinking yesterday that maybe JGP could have been exposed to someone who may have been positive or exposed themselves? Perhaps Dobson was with JGP after Saturday’s game or Sunday morning and he too was placed on the CPL as well. As many on here said it just doesn’t make sense they played the game if either tested positive.

This is going to be a big test with the real competition we have coming up coinciding with the injuries and covid protocols. We actually may be better off if they shut us down for covid for a couple of weeks

I was thinking that as well last night.

Could've been either inconclusive tests or contact tracing, doesn't necessarily mean they're positive. Sounds like Dobson's was just inconclusive, at least:

More startling was what happened right before the puck dropped in Newark on Sunday. Noah Dobson, who took warmups in his usual spot and was on the bench just before the national anthem was to be sung, was pulled from the game at the last minute with what Barry Trotz called “discrepancies.” Dobson showed up on the NHL COVID-19 protocol list during the second intermission of Sunday’s game.

“All the protocols the NHL has in place, all the testing, we were just informed before the game that there were some discrepancies,” Trotz said. “The NHL’s doing a really good job of trying to keep everyone safe. We found out Pager a little earlier and with Dobber, it was really last minute. Right before the anthem, the last part came in, so we removed him from the game, and Sebastian (Aho) jumped in. Really good job by the NHL, and we have to adjust, every team has had to do it.”

Trotz said in that same statement there discrepancies with Dobson as you stated so hopefully they are both back

Are the islanders in Washington. I would think the team would get tested before they get on the plane or bus. Probably here something today

Apparently that's a common thought as I was thinking the same as well. With Anders aready gone and Pageau/Dobson both out, this upcoming stretch could undo a lot of hard work

the moment contact tracing becomes an issue, your would think the whole damn team would fall into that protocol. They all were in the same lockerroom the day before

I believe players are tested everyday except for off days where there is no practice or games.

Dobson clearly seems to be just an inconclusive/inconsistent test. Hopefully that's all Pageau's was too and they both check out OK in time for tomorrow's game. Really can't afford to be without anyone besides Lee with the rest of the month being WSH, PHI 3x, BOS 2x, and PIT 2x

I'm really curious to see what they do with Lee's money. If Lee could be back by the playoffs this could be a huge plus for the Isles. When Pelech got hurt last year didn't they come out and say he was done for the season? That's why I'm thinking Lee might be back for the playoffs. If so and they use his salary now on another player or two that could be a homerun. I guess we'll find out soon enough

I really hate him.. like despise him.. I don't care how many points he ends up with on my team. I want him off this team. The guy is just an idiot.

It was just a matter of time before Injuries & Covid hit this team. Things were going too smooth I figured last night would be an L for many reasons but this team just keeps collecting points and they are going to need them all especially if more guys start coming down with the covid. I thought in the 3rd and OT Sororkin was solid. Once he learns to stop giving up one bad goal a game he is going to be a good one.
- Vukota

Yeah.. every one of those games collecting 2 points is huge. We are heading to the deep end now and it looks like going to be missing a bunch of players. Every point we got from Buffalo and NJ are going to be huge. (still annoyed we let a few get away against Pens but can't win every game).

If Dobson is on protocol then the entire team may be soon. Let's hope it's negative
- Upstate_isles

Unless he had a False positive I can't see how it could be negative. He was on bench and in warmups and got pulled.. that means his test came back positive.

The Contact tracing rules are beyond absurd. My son has been quarantined a couple of times b/c of kids in school and his sister who is a twin was not quarantined. They had me pick him up at school early one day and not pick up his sister.

the kid who actually had it car pooled with 2 kids that when the Mother asked if she should keep Her kids home they said no... "they are not on the list" she kept them home anyway and they were marked absent.

Like anything with Government involved - SnaFU .. (situation normal.. all fffed up)

really got lucky in that game last night. Had the one goal taken off the board b/c of the interference penalty in the 3rd and another b/c of the offsides in OT.

I can't for the life of me understand why this team has gotten so bad in 3-on-3 ot. We don't try to keep possession, we let guys get free constantly, and we love to take the puck back not just out of the offensive zone but take it all the way back behind our own net allowing the other team to get a full change. It really baffles me.

No it doesn't.

In fact, it was reported that there were "discrepancies" in his testing. It means that his tests didn't give a clear answer and he was held out per league Covid protocol.

Any tips for Lou and Pellegrini on Lee being on LTIR and how to manage that?

That PK subban goal was such an obvious set play... He waited forever.. flipped it to the forward right and took off up the left side. My 13 year old was saying.. "stay with Subban Brock". How does Trotz not address this?

You love to bring the cap sht up and still fail to realize u were wrong.. it's amazing to me. I gave you 5 scenarios they would need to get done.. and you constantly bring up the one sentence that was my 5th scenario.. "if they sign him on day 1 will you appologize" ... You fail to mention that I said the other scenarios where they would have to waive 5 guys to get under the cap otherwise... My Point was always that Barzal contract was a non-event and he certainly wasn't a "goner". He alluded to the fact that it was always going to get done a week later.

you still don't understand that you can't use LTIR to get under the cap b/c you are a dope.
