Right now Fletcher should be blocking Dave Scott's cell number and not taking his calls. Seriously looking at whether the Flyers should be sellers rather than buyers. Decide what you want to do for the expansion draft and anyone of value that might not be protected, they should look to move rather than lose for nothing.

Next 10 games are very important in determining that...starting with these next 2. Lose them and we are looking like sellers. A long winning streak and they can still be smart buyers. A truly mixed bag and hopefully they can be a shrewd buyer and seller.

Unless either the Isles or Washington goes into a slump, which is doubtful, the Flyers are down to at the most 2 spots, most likely one spot to make the playoffs. Boston is going to get it's act together. So I see it between the Flyers and Pittsburgh. Trading for a playoff boost is a mistake. Wait until the off season.

I'm thinking of a plan on how the Flyers can get McDavid.

This team has created quite an uphill battle for themselves, so many self inflicted wounds.

Lol, I'm a relatively new poster, but been lurking here for years.

Eichel for JVR, Frost (or additional first), Sanheim and this year's protected first (top 10 protected)

Not if the "ownership" wants playoff revenue.

The Islanders are going to win the division just as I predicted they would. I recall you not believing the Islanders were that good of a team, I would hope now you realize that last year was no fluke. Boston will make it in as will the Caps, so I agree it will be down to Pittsburgh and the Flyers. I think it will end up being the Flyers on the outside looking in if they decide to do nothing .. again!

However, I'm not sure why its a joke to you that the Flyers would go after Hamilton in free agency. What, he is not an upgrade for this team over what they have now? So in your mind, No Ekholm, No Hamilton, we just, what, wait for another 3 years to see if York, Zamula and Millman become adequate D men? No thank you!

It depends on what they are offered by any other team. And how committed he is to get out of Buffalo.

So does this hypothetical trade presume the Flyers will not be in the playoffs this year and thus will be in the lottery, and thus there will be a chance that their No 1 pick is in the top 10? JVR has a track record, and its not a consistent one. Frost is a complete unknown. Sanheim is decent but not great. The pick is not in the top 10. I believe the team that gets the best player wins the trade and right now Eichel is the best player in this deal. Thus if I am Buffalo I say no thanks to this trade.

that deal is laughable on buffalos end. Trade the franchise center for a bunch of pieces.

Organization has become to passive. I’m on board with changing some of the players as I am not sold on the core. I’m also not sold on the young core of d man. I’ve been disappointed in all three of the young d this year, Myers, Sanheim and Provorov. Young D take time to develop, but to me they’ve regressed since last years shutdown. If the deal is Patrick and a 1rst, for Ekholm, I’m not sure that’s in their best interest as all though frustrated by Patrick, I’m not ready to send him packing for a guy in his 30’s.
Ekholm is and would be a top two pairing guy, but I’d keep Patrick out of that deal.
If I’m moving Patrick it’s for a Sam Bennet type guy who is in the same boat as Patrick and perhaps has just under performed but is still young enough and might actually flourish with a new team.
I like the idea of Hamilton....but that might be a long shot. The D has to be addressed if this team has any shot of contending.

Weird trade thought.

To Columbus. Vorachek ghost two 1 st rounders. Maybe a second or third.

To Philly. Seth j. Max domi.

Now tear it apart.

SetH Jones would probably take a Farabee or Konecny type.

I would also not want to trade Patrick if I also had to part with a 1st round pick. I think Patrick still has a chance to succeed in this league, so I would be more comfortable with a later round pick if I had to include Patrick in the deal. The Flyers do have centers in their system that could replace Patrick, including Frost, Foerster and O'Brien, so losing Patrick would not be a killer.

You are inaccurate. What I said is that the Isles are a good team but they are not on the level of the top teams of the league such as TB and Vegas imo. That being said, they're a difficult team to play against and they make you earn everything so they are always a threat.

As far as your second paragraph, what on earth are you talking about? LOL I have not stated that the Flyers should not go after Hamilton in free agency.
