Hi Tony.

I read your post on the last blog right before they pulled all my teeth and I agree with you for the most part. I do understand why people are frustrated though.

People aren’t robots. They are going to show emotion during a game in real time. Last night was garbage. I would be upset if people are fine with it actually. I have been posting on this thread during games for over a decade. I always let people do them. It’s part of the fun. Sorry Tony just don’t agree with you on this.

I am certainly not fine with a team not being competitive.
My problem is people saying over and over "fire Quinn" with no argument provided just because the team isn't scoring. They are generating a ridiculous amount of high quality chances and then either not shooting or not burying it. How the (frank) is that the fault of the coach? Is he supposed to jump the boards, rip the stick out of Zib's hands and shoot it? Is he supposed to run out and dive in front of a shot that Georgie should save 98% of the time? (frank)ing ridiculous.
"He's got no system in place!" "You can't just let these kids roll with it and figure it out as they go along!"
They have played defense above anything ANY of us would have asked for in 90% of their games. The youngest team in the league!
Expecting miracles and then female doging that things aren't how you want them to be is a recipe for depression.

No one was complaining about goals last night. The team didn't show up to play. I have no issue people calling out the coach for that

I think a common theme is to find a scapegoat. Its an age old past time that will never quit. You also have those that will just regurgitate something someone else said without producing their own opinion. Again something that will never end. That's why I filter who I respond to when I am having a more serious conversation and not joking around.
I agree with your points that there is no singular thing and that some of the issues are explained by the youth of the team. As I have said in my previous posts, I cannot excuse a lack of effort and as I also said, last night is an example of everything not working, coaching and players. IT happens.
Just keep filtering Tony, it will help.

TPC, that has been a major flaw all year.
Last night they carried play for the first 12-15 minutes. In an almost lopsided fashion. They just had the same almost mental block when finishing.
The way they played in the latter half of the game was not good. But, their start was exactly what we've been asking for. Yet, still more pitchforks.
I'm not saying he won't be fired. I question the validity of calling for it at this time.

I do!

But, sometimes it builds to a head.
I'm sure some of my defense of Quinn is misplaced. But, as someone pointed out earlier (rangers2, I think), Quinn has only been here during the rebuild and has the youngest team in the league and is still hovering around .500 as a coach here.
He gets all the blame and none of the praise. That is as stupid as the reverse would be.

That's fine. I honestly don't care about arguing this type of stuff. It's just calling people out for being frustrated in the heat of the game. People are human. Emotion will happen.

People were complaining about Georgie yesterday about the goals where 2 were screened and the other 2 cross crease one timers.

Yeah. I am in the middle on this one.
He was screened for sure, but I feel like he was well off his angle on the first one.
The one from the point looked weird. I haven't looked for a video of it, but from the way he reacted I think it glanced off a leg just a bit. So, I'm not sure how much to blame him. I know the team needed a (frank)in save in the worst way when each of those were scored, though. We were spoiled for a loooonnng time.

Yea I still disagree with you on that. Georgiev disserves some blame on those goals. I watched the replay a few times, he wasn't totally screened on those 2. And they were from so far out. If he is in better position he can make those saves.

Yep. Sometimes reading too many of them the pressure gauge too high. Vent it out buddy.
Also, Making points for Quinn could start a positive side of the conversation.

He does but he was screened on both. Rooney on the second one for sure. You said no one was complaining about goals last night, people definitely were complaining

Some of it is justified. It is evident he has lost confidence in himself. He has left in soft goals on multiple games, mostly the long shots where the save is there to be made. Also, watching replays, like TPC said, he is off his angle so much more than I remember last year. That is evidence of him either losing focus of his position or thinking too much and not being instinctive.

BTW: I have been a Georgiev fan and advocated for him being a good backup goalie. He just needs to re-find his mojo.

Honestly this board seems to have the same emotional swings as the team. Zib has one bad season and Georgiev a few bad games and they are both deemed talentless garbage. Half the lobby suddenly had the foresight to know that TDA on a 2 yr deal was going to be a disaster when just last season some of us were deeming him the 2nd coming of Brian Leetch. I seem to recall the"60 pt Dmen don't come along every day" daily discussions.

It's frustrating as a fan. I get it. But if we can't moderate and control our reactions any better than this how do we expect the 2nd youngest team in the league with a coach in his 3rd year to have iron fortitude? Man I hope the kids on the roster don't read social media or hockey blogs because that would explain their mental woes.

Team needs a driving force whether it be a coach or a captain. All of these talented kids are going to live what they learn and they are learning that they don't have to play 60 minutes a night or when they are down by 2.

It was the best thing to do. Stay in position, get in lanes and not run around like a dingbat
