Yea true

It would just be so risky cause the Rangers would have no center depth at all

- TPC

It'll be a 3-2 moral victory loss

It’s crazy. Still think you guys lock him up long term but not for the price he would probably like lol
- Vukota

right now, I feel like we got lucky we found out about Zibinajed now, unlike Buffalo who found out about Skinner too late

Back to feeling like Quinn just needs to be replaced, can not for the life of me figure out Lemiuex on the 2nd line and Laf on the 4th, why can't we develop star players, why can't this organization just get it right for once?
- KreiderBomb

It is frustrating for sure

Yep this is the biggest thing. I am still 60% sure he gets another deal but no where near how big we thought it would be

If all goes according to plan, the #NYR are expecting Vitali Kravtsov to join the team in about two weeks.

I’m told getting him into #NHL games will be a priority

- jimbro83

So wait he won't join the team for 2 weeks, then has to quarantine for another 2 weeks? Will he even play?

Well my point is you didn't have to go 2 years for both. Could have done 1 year deals
- TPC

True. Would have been ideal. I wonder if that was the negotiation part along with numbers.

Seems like he's traveling to NY in the next few days, so that 2 weeks should include the 10 days of quarantine or so.

2 year deals made sense because of the upcoming Expansion Draft...

To me there is ABSOLUTELY NO excuse for coming out flat, especially this year where every game is a 4 point game, and most are against long time rivals. Especially for a coach who constantly says he wants a team that's hard to play against, and wants grit. He should be riling these guys up before the game.

What is the pre game speech he gives ? Because it seems like it's
"Hey guys, lets go out there and just play it safe, stay out of trouble, don't do too much, and in a few hours we can all go home."

- ELew11

I understand this a bit but then again, these are professional hockey players, these aren't 10 year olds where they need a speech to get them going. If you need a coach to get you ready to play a game at the NHL level, you shouldn't be in the league.

Has a player even fallen from the good graces of the fans as quickly as Zib has? This time last year some of you were looking to legally change your name to MikaπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ now the guy is getting destroyed on here nightly

Last March we named our puppy Mika Pupnarin...

I have just been calling him Mike the dog.

Regarding the Quinn talk, I totally agree. I just don't see him as the long-term solution. And, truth be told, most college coaches aren't. I mean, yeah, "The Badger" Bob Johnson, but he was the exception and not the rule.

Anyway, not for head coach yet, but as for a potential assistant, am I the only one already thinking about Cally?

I'll never understand that, he was just standing there. Seriously, just skate to the bench for someone else.

Hi Tony.

I read your post on the last blog right before they pulled all my teeth and I agree with you for the most part. I do understand why people are frustrated though.

I've never gotten that (completely), either.
I get you can't leave a quadrant totally unguarded, but I would try to skate out and finish a check on the point man when he has the puck, knock him off his feet for a couple seconds even if he dishes it and then hightail it to the bench!

While he half hearted most of that, he couldn't get to the bench since it was he 2nd period. I think he played it relatively conservative and it worked out for him

I know I was offside a little.
I was frustrated, too. But, IMO, what we saw last night was different in many respects. The deciding factor was that no Ranger tried to make a play to the inside. Credit the veteran Bruins for not allowing it. But, it is the only way to victory in the NHL.
They came out flying!!! All the female doging about slow starts and no one will acknowledge that this was not the case last night.
Also, factor in that Jaro Calak (tip o the hat to Sam) must feel like the New York Rangers will never beat him again. That carries weight.
Quinn is getting roasted again for mixing up the lines in a game where we are getting shut out. If he doesn't mix up the lines, people female dog that he can't adjust. There is no winning for him.
I haven't seen a single comment about him playing Laf/Chtil/Kakko together and they were the best line on the ice, obvious lack of production aside.
99% of people here agreed this was a progression and work the kinks out season, even if we managed to make the playoffs, but every game it's the same old apocalypse.
