If they can win the next two vs Philly they’re back in the hunt. Need to hope that isles and caps crush it and beat everyone else. Keeps the other teams close |

I enjoyed it I can’t lie. Frederic is a pain in ass but in the end it was dumb. |

Do we want the Rangers in the playoff picture this season? For me that a back and forth issue. |

If they miss the playoffs I would prefer they finish 5th than 7th in the division even if at the expense of a higher draft pick. Give the team some confidence heading into next season. |

JJ scored a goal against the Penguins in his last game. I wonder if that proves to be his last game and he simply retires at the end of this season. Sure would be a nice way to go out... |

That was JJ pinnacle of his playing career. Some people retire after winning a championship, JJ retires after scoring a single goal. Keep your goals low, says JJ> |

Could always go for a playoff run. They could turn it on still, plenty of time to make it |

I wouldn't hold my breath for any sort of playoff "run", but in a tight division (assuming it will be) any shot at playoff or even playoff type action would be beneficial for this team.
I just pray it won't be like when we said that last year! |

I’ve been saying that this whole season will beneficial in the long run. I’m not really worried about wins or losses anymore. Really just want more from the kids. Still not doing enough. Hopefully we see Barron and Kravtsov soon, replacing some of the bottom feeders we have |

Brooks wrote good article today saying that NYR has to give Kravstov plenty of ice and let him show what he's got. They better. |

I just happen to stubble upon this article, not sure anyone saw this (dated March 1st) But probably eases any concerns of him not signing his ELC.
This could also have been a factor in the Deangelo saga. It says Nils didn’t intend to sign because of everyone ahead of him. Now Deangelo is out of the way |

If he is every bit as good as people have been saying... Trouba is going to find himself on the third pairing and the Rangers will have a new albatross contract to figure out how to make disappear. Which, by the way, Im predicting a buyout (or by some miracle a trade) in the 2024 off-season. |

They have the talent and potential to turn it on for sure. I think the only reason in my book for the Rangers to make the playoffs is the experience it gives the young guys. Other than that, I would hate to see management change course and look at being buyers at the trade deadline just for a "hope". Though I don't see JD doing this. |

Don't forget about Schneider. I believe in this kid, both in his talent and what the Rangers need on the back end. Trouba is not playing terrible hockey, but he is burdened with living up to his contract. |

This is why I say Trouba gets bought out in 2024, room has to be made for Schneider.
We will eventually end up at in impasse with all these defensemen in the same way the Predators did. They had Shea Weber (who became PK Subban), Seth Jones, Roman Josi, Ryan Ellis and Mathias Ekholm.
For us is its... Fox, Miller, Lindgren, Lundkvist, Schneider and potentially in 5 years Zack Jones. With Trouba already on the books. You can call it a "good" problem to have. |

I love Lindgren and he and Fox have been and are a great combo but the way he plays concerns me longevity wise. I believe that in the future he will not be someone the Rangers should commit to long term.
