No offense meant but I am not trading JTM for a player with two NHL points.

In the future Byram - Hughes could be our top pairing and the best we have had in the history of the franchise. Byram seems like he will be a beast.

The revenue lost from the league over the past 12 months and 18 months, by the time this season is over, will come off any revenue, until it equals the 50-50 share, which will take about 6-10 years to repay.
Just my opinion, but I do agree, arenas will bee pretty full everywhere, except Arizona of course.

- Reubenkincade

i'm not sure it works like that. as far as i know, the cap is based on revenue expectations on each upcoming season. it has nothing to do with lost or past revenue.

as for the difference between salary paid out vs revenue received for the last year, i would think this was discussed/agreed to during the new cba agreement. i would be very surprised if it carried over beyond this season beyond the % in escrow. but any amount paid in escrow has no affect on the cap.

Sitting in 20th spot right now and I had the club at 16-19 which is still very possible. How does that translate to bottom 5?

Sorry, your prediction doesnโ€™t count unless you posted it here with some $ to back it up.

So, if the league reaches the magical 4.8 billion in revenue next season, the league will raise the cap?
I don't think so.

Here is a link that contains links to other info on the cap...enjoy.๐Ÿ˜

yes. put simply, the cap each year is based on what the expected/predicted revenue will be. a certain amount is withheld (in escrow) as a way to offset a shortage if there is one.

the amount lost in this and last season was dealt with in the "thingy" and "back to play" agreements. the only uncertainty now is what revenue will look like in the future. if you think there is some sort of debt that the players will have to pay back (other than through escrow which has no affect on the cap), i think you're mistaken.

edit: i read your link. i don't know what you want me to get from that?

I like you Reuby, very self-deprecating. A refreshing change among a pile of us (myself included) that overestimate our self worth.

in any event, it's a flat cap for a couple of seasons at least. i think it bounces up. you think down.

so just in time for the canucks to contend, they'll get a lot of money to play with or are screwed for eternity.

so canuck luck means it's gotta go up!

everything's coming up millhouse!

Two lefties. There are VERY few lefties playing right that are good. To the tune of Schmidt is probably the best in the league at it and he is much better on the left.

I think it is a very unrealistic trade.

Canucks have three young talented LHD already .
