He showed a lot of promise before he injured himself back in the 2016-17 season. This season, even when he's not scoring, he's been an effective player by forechecking and just smashing players into the boards.

Plus he fights, so that's fun to watch.

Man I used to say some not nice things about his game as well as his ethnicity, but my god has he ever turned his career around. Consistency has been his biggest issue, but when he's on he's such an exciting player.

Since Khaira has come back from the taxi squad, he's been an effective bottom 6 player. Penalty killing, fighting, positive zone time as well as scoring some goals.

Jones has actually been good, but Tippett is stubborn and continues to play Russell.

I mean, I agree. But Staal has 3 goals and 6 assists in 24 games Khaira has 3 goals and 5 assists in 19 games. Plus Staal makes around double what Khaira does. Plus he wants to throw in Jones? Nope.

Maybe that package for another player, sure, but for Staal, that's an awful trade for Edmonton.

I like Drai but he has feasted on Ottawa and Vancouver this year then just ok against the better teams. These last two games Tippet has gone back to McDrai as a line which is not a long term solution.
