Jets are in good shape going into the expansion draft. If it truly comes down to it, the Jets could probably leave Morrissey exposed. Not ideal, but his Cap hit and term may cause Seattle to pass, and take a low risk option like Niku instead. But I share your sentiment, Appleton should be protected. His production in the AHL has almost matched his NHL production when you compare points-per 60 minutes. He is quitly putting together an excellent season.

Ideally, Demelo waives his M-NMC and allows himself to be offered up in the expansion. Doubt they want him, but it could protect another D that is desperately needed.

Surely you're not serious when you say "leave Morrissey exposed in the Expansion Draft?"

DeMelo doesn't't have a NMC, only a modified NTC so he doesn't have to waive to be claimed - he has to be protected if Jets want to keep him, or they risk losing him.

Seven Jets forwards I would protect as of now: Scheifele, Wheeler, Connor, Ehlers, PLD, Copp and Appleton. Lowry and Stastny are UFA's so don't have to worry about them - unless they re-sign before the expansion draft, which I don't see happening.

Demelo does not have a NMC, he has NTC, which means that he can be exposed in the NHL expansion draft. Only players with NMC cannot be exposed.

In this time of covid and reduced revenue, the organization should consider leasing a couple lines and maybe 4 D from the Moose / taxi squad to a team like Buffalo?

I am sure the Moose with the stacked lineup and a good gaolie like Berdin could give a team like Buffalo a very competitive game as Buffalo is so terrible.

If the plan is play the old geezers game in and game out without rotating in some of the talent biding their time to prove themselves, why not consider additional revenue in leasing a player(s) to other teams?

Of course this is ridiculous but seriously, there is another NHL team there, albeit young and inexperienced waiting in the wings. Jets could ice two teams right now with one obviously better than the other but the masses are not accepting this old geezer game plan anymore.

Another issue that irks my pile is Wheeler, Stats, and who else deciding to be not selfish in taking the open net shot?

Oh, here I am not selfish, you take the shot...……...only to lose control and TO score and make it 4-3?

Shoot the f-----g puck already. That has to be shot as you see the result. And, with a little luck by TO, they could have tied it up!

I hope the coaches were unglued later on because that should not occur, ever. Playing tic tac toe with a open net, good gracious
