I think Sutter will actually help them in the short term but he is not the answer to the Flames long term problems. Like a lot of teams that club has been circling the drain since 2004

It'd be like us going back to Gillis and AV lol

Geez I hope K-man is ok...

more time to see how Miller does as the 1C. So far I really like what I am seeing from him.

They locked in on him for three years but I think he will be GM soon so it wont matter.

There are a few ways to look at the draft this year.

If draft picks are devalued due to the lack of scouting, playing etc. then there could be a higher chance of hitting a homerun later in the draft. I wouldn't mind stockpiling lottery tickets and hoping even 1 hits in the 3rd and beyond.

We're also playing better without him. DO we look to go Miller/Horvat down the centre and dangle EP to fix our defense?

I don't think we move him and I don't think our D is bad so I wouldn't . We have a few young fellows that are going to be ready to step in shortly on D ( OJ Rathbone and Woo in two years)

I would stay on course and turn two scoring lines into three. I think a line of Petey Pods and someone else would be better than Sutter Gaudette Michaelis

I’m not sure I can handle the next two months of Edler and Hamonic trade proposals

Don't jump the gun on Petey. He is a major part of our top 6 and will be that way for quite some time. Two weeks ago we were entertaining trade proposals for Miller lol. Things can change quickly.

You don't move Petey for short-term fixes on D IMO. The three scoring lines is an option but I still think with Podz coming in we have major options to look at. See where it goes with Pearson and if he continues to sputter 3L duties with Sutter and Gaudette for him would be fine. If Pearson and Sutter are dangled at TDL we now have Hogs and Podz plus Petey coming back whenever. I would let Pettersson Boeser Miller and Bo Hogs and Podz battle it out for top 6 minutes and move Pearson to the 3rd line. Inserting Petey as the 3LC will not automatically make that a 'scoring line' considering who he would be playing with.

I think that folks are so used to mediocre play that they are looking and suggesting trades that will hopefully benefit the team long term.

I have been very pleased with the defence men lately, having Harmonic back has really helped. I still think Hughes tries to take on too much, but the benefit of that is the opposition has to adjust which potentially leaves others open for a quality chance.

I wouldn’t move Pettersson either but he needs to take those opportunities and not look for a cute passing play.

'if' Pods can handle top 6 minutes and play that might work. Not sure I'd like Bo tackling the big D matches with Pearson and JV as his main line mates lol

Back from injury I have a feeling we'll see Petey back to his old self. Producing points and pretty solid defensively.

The defence has come around a bit and Hamonic is a big part of it. He plays tougher and has added a few things we have been missing back there. Myers is fine but his contract outshines his play IMO. You know my position on Edler much like Tanev it's just time to move on. Benn has looked better again but a lot of that is Demko the kid has been bloody outstanding.

Schmidt looks to be settling in.

I think we have got to trust our prospects. The same thing is said every year going back to Boeser Petey Quinn Hogs and now Pods. They are well prepared and have been scouted well. Believe in the force Luke.

Does it matter what number they are called if they are all playing 18 minutes a night? I think it matters more to us than it does to them.

I don't remember Horvat or Pearson complaining that Hoglander was on the top line the last few games.

The minutes will sort themselves out
