I mean it took a 2nd round pick just to pry a 37yo Andy Greene away from the Devils. I have to imagine it's a 1st+ to get Palmieri out of there.

Well I dunno about you guys, but I’m not too keen on dishing 1sts for a rental in a shortened season. That’s just me though.

I'm not either but I think that'll be his cost. Especially to trade him in-division

Maybe a 2nd and a prospect (Bellows)? I agree a 1st seems high.

Palmieri would be nice but giving up another #1 would be real tough.

This draft this year is not good at all and we are challenging for the presidents trophy how good a pic will it be. If the islanders win the cup I don't think anyone would be upset about giving up a first to NJ

This is true.

Personally, I’d rather throw a 1st (+) at Anaheim for Rakell. Dude is a shoot first winger with another year left @ 3.7 mill. Ducks have already let it be known that he’s available.

I didn't read back but Lee out long term but back for playoffs and an addition could put them over the top

It's a top spot because the Isles are contending. It's easier to give up picks though if the Isles had more Cap room and were able to sign quality UFA's. I would probably give up the pick at the end the of day.

It certainly would. But they could always shoot for 2022 1st maybe.

That said -- the Islanders are (frank)ing rolling right now. It may be worth paying up a little to stack the lineup for the playoffs and really give them a legit chance to contend.

I have to agree. It's clear the Isles are not rebuilding and are going for it with Lou and Barry. Hall seems to have a lot of baggage and Palmieri seems like a real good fit. How are his numbers against Boston and Tampa?

They are rolling right now and made it to the conference finals last year so.tou.have to think they have a legit shot

What I'm afraid of is that Lee is really hurt bad, not unlike what happened to Jake McCabe a week or two ago. Really hoping he doesn't have a torn up knee with a 6+ month rehab

I’m going sprained MCL 4-6 weeks. Might be 8 weeks if they put him on LTIR. Or his knee is completely shredded 😂😢

He’s going to be out for a while. That looked like something that’s at least the season most likely the season + playoffs. I think we all know that
