I love the Isles new move when an opponent grabs their stick to draw a penalty when they yank it free... They just let go of the stick. Eventually maybe the refs will call them actually grabbing the opponent's stick. At least 3 times last night it was very blatent that a Boston player was holding an Islander's stick. .. the most obvious one was when Charlie Mac lost his stick and just grabbed Lee's stick taking away a scoring chance. How can you possibly not see that?

Two more effective $5-6mm players would make this team an absolute beast.

I would love to see that but it isn’t happening. I would be happy with just some depth at this point.

The flip side of that is if the ref doesn’t call it/see it then that player is without a stick and that usually doesn’t end well for us.

Last night they showed a clip of Barzal stickhandling around Aho in warmups (which I think was from last nights game). Was wondering if maybe they slot him in a few games?
- TogaIsles

I saw that and honestly that’s what the other teams forwards do to him too
It’s been 3 or 4 years and he hadn’t cracked the lineup consistently so I don’t think he’s the answer honestly.

Yeah that’s what I’m saying. Have to start giving someone some game time. Let’s face it we’re not making it through this season unscathed without injuries it’s not happening. We’ve been fortunate so far but to expect that to continue is unrealistic. I get trotz’s hesitation even mayfield has looked good recently and Leddy has completely turned his game around from the first ten games but to me we have to hedge our bets a bit when it’s appropriate...

Sucks to have to do it the way the team is rolling but if we create some space between us and the rest of the division we have to start inserting Aho, Koivula, whoever they think works the best(Johnston ) to give them some playing time imo.

- Cptmjl

I agree. Tough to pull players out of the lineup when we are playing like we are. Especially the left side with Pelech, Leddy and Greene (who I think is very underrated) playing the way they are. For some reason he's ok swapping Komarov in - although I thought he actually had a decent game last night - but not Aho or maybe even Bolduc to see what he can do. I'm guessing it has to do with his defensive first mentality and comfort for his d-men.

Before the season starts next season the only goal is to get rid of one of these disgusting terrible contracts. We cant do anything until this happens. Not concerned with trades or waiver wire pickups. We are 2 points from the best record in the league. This is the lineup we are going to compete for the cup this summer. It's only about lou getting rid of these disgusting contracts. Ladd and Hickey.

Haha yea. Was funny to see him in warmups. I guess they do that with guys to give them the pregame experience or maybe someone was a gametime decision to play?

Just looked at BP site and Bolduc still leading the team with 5 pts in 7 games. Aho not on the stats list. Didn't realize he's just been up with the Isles and not getting any time with the tigers. I'd think they'd want to give the young guys as much playing time as possible - especially our d-men. Odd to me.

When is Casey Cizikas' public execution for the murder of GM Jorts scheduled for?

They have to rest a few of these players with this crazy schedule. Bring Johnson in especially when we play Washington.

I believe he's referring to Cizikas' vicious attack on Jack Eichel that left him crippled and unable to lead a fulfilling life

They have to be up with the team on the taxi squad because of NHL COVID protocol.
If you have an injury and they call a player from BP they can’t come up without first quarantining I believe 10 days. Bolduc getting time down there is awesome and he’s playing great. He probs breaks the line up next year at some point.

We might lose 2 defenseman this summer so Bolduc will be in the lineup next year.

He will be if he continues to play the way he is. Greene’s spot most likely is his to fill.

It would be huge. I don’t want to wait another season plus to lose some of those contracts but unfortunately that’s probably what’s going to happen
- Vukota

It's sort of a relic of the past front office: loyalty to a fault. Some of those contracts are precisely the result of that.

3 defense we might lose. Pelech because we don't have any cap space mayfield to expansion and Greene to retirement or free agency. Islanders have no choice but to shed the ridiculous ladd contract hickeys contract and islanders will have to leave bailey exposed and hope Seattle takes him to free up cap. We can't lose Pelech

The worst one was when Dobson's stick was ripped from his hands in the dzone and the Bruins forward carried his stick multiple strides out to the blueline before letting it go. That too was a must call that wasn't....

Lost in the overall celebration of last nights win was the incredible save Varly had, which in effect saved the game

Lou can use some picks Aho and or Bellows as sweeteners to Seattle to take Ladd or others. Going to be interesting.
Pelech and Mayfield will be signed imo. I’m going to enjoy the ride this season and worry about the cap in the off season. Hopefully we can add some d depth at the deadline and maybe a 3rd line winger upgrade as well. That’s Lou’s and Pellegrini’s job. Get it done boys.

Sorokin wouldn't have needed to make that save. He would have stared the shooter down into submission

The shooters stick would have crumbled in his hands with fear.
