If the Rangers traded K'andre, I'm done with this team - mdw7413
I dont see it happening.
Of the prospects, it will likely be Kravtsov or Lundkvist because of how deep we are at RW and RD. I doubt Schneider is available considering how excited JD was to get him. Im still convinced he will be Trouba's replacement when they buy him out in 2024.
I could see Chytil going the other way. Rather than Kravtsov, I could see Buch going the other way. One way or another, Strome has to be a part of the package going the other way to make the money work. I dont think Kravtsov AND Buch get sent to Buffalo.
Theres also the possibility that they involve a third team. |

I really like Eichel and Barkov.
We definitely need a center and have some valuable prospects to offer in a trade. The problem with getting an Eichel or Barkov is not only the trade price, but the CAP SPACE price too. I think we are approaching this problem in the wrong way.
Perhaps we should look for a young up and coming center that doesn't destroy our cap. Maybe we look to a team like Arizona for a player like Christian Dvorak or Barrett Hayton. The Coyotes are an absolute mess and we may be able to overwhelm them with a strong trade offer.
The Coyotes don't have a first or third round pick this upcoming draft and lack enough defensive prospects in their pipeline to potentially replace the 5 defensemen that have expiring contracts on their roster for next year.
With all of our prospects on defense, there might be a match to be made here... |

I would rather find another center that might be available. I just can't seeing it work with Buffalo.
I know you have your reservations, but I would keep Chytil and I have to believe Zib is gonna get out of this funk eventually. Thats a solid 1-2, because I have high hopes for Chytil. I would love to pick up a 2/3 center that won't effect the team as much as an Eichel trade would. Also with Eichel I doubt they could afford Zibs up coming contract. So now we are at square 1 again (especially if you trade Chytil) 1 really good center and thats it.
I don't want to do anything big until we see a full year of Chytil, but so far he is looking good.

I agree. Eichel is too costly in a variety of ways. Find another team as a trade partner and get someone else. Zibanejad is going to turn this around and hopefully it coincides with Panarin returning to the team. |

Yeah, no way this is Zib's new normal. So Zib goes back to being a top10-15 center. Chytil has an excellent year. Thats a good 1-2 and pretty cost controlled at least for Chytil. Really the only thing would be a 2/3 center kind of like Hayes was. Now if Strome wants to take a discount, I would have no issue with a 3rd line of Kreider/Strome/ And who knows.. Blackwell/Gauthier/Kravtsov |

I know that people really believe in Chytil, however... if were getting a proven stud centerman in return then its kind of hard to not make the trade.
Financially. Assuming Chytil, Strome and Buch are one way or another traded, that will help us clear up some cap.
By the time the cap will become a concern, I expect Trouba to be bought out and us to be much better off. |

Stay put at center is my opinion. Everyone is so quick to ship out who we have before we even know what we have in them. If Zib cab find his game I think we’re more than fine at center for the time being. The type of trade at center id make would be something like Kravtsov for Vilardi. Both teams dealing from depth for a position of need. Zib/Strome/Chytil is more than adequate for now given how strong our wingers are. |

I agree overall. Chytil is a good player and still developing, but is not in the untouchable category at all. Over valuing players is a dangerous game. My biggest concerns/issues with Eichel is the price tag. Cap hit and trade value. I would not be open to the Rangers trading from the key pieces in Kakko, Laf, Miller, Schneider. But if it is some combo of the others and taking cap off their hands, then sure. I do not think Eichel is a savior player type, Panarin is better play driver than Eichel IMHO, hence the concern on being stuck with a huge cap hit. |

The issue is Zib. If he doesn’t turn it around by next year what do we do. Do we give him 8-9 mill? Seems risky right now
I will say Chytil emerging makes center much better. They’ve been very patient with him |

I don't think anyone is over valuing Chytil, if anything this fan base has under valued him. The whole Eichel thing would crate more problems than it fixes. imo |

Yea. It was a cautionary general thought. I think Chytil is still a bit of a mystery on how he will fully pan out for sure.
And yea, I just see Eichel being more of a set back than a move forward. Especially with who would be traded and If he is given 10 mil a year plus. I don't think he is a complete enough player for 10Mil a year when we have Panarin at 11mil, who is worth every penny. |
