I think the attitude is, that if you not spending thousands on vacations, you might as invest into a new vehicle, renos, etc.

in the midst of a bathroom reno. it's been a complete tear down job and it's going to cost close to 30k when it's all said and done. my wife used the vacation rationale too. i don't recall going on any 30k vacations.

Ontario and sadly it seems like a 50% chance if we drive in that somebody insists on this. I've given up fighting it. Frankly the best meal I remember having in Montreal was at a BBQ joint downtown that I can't remember the name of

i order from them pretty regularly. mainly because they deliver to my neighborhood and their app makes it so that i don't have to speak to or see another living human being. but i never thought of it being a destination.
