Talking about Sandin and Kerfoot, not sure I’d do that trade. I like Foligno but.... - Garnie
Jenner at 3.75m> Foligno at 5.5m
But, I don’t see CBJ trading either |

There is no way the Leafs would include any of their top prospects for Nick Foligno. He's decent, but has regressed. He's a 3rd liner at this point in his career - Archaic
I don’t know who first raised the idea of Granlund from the Preds but I think that’s what they do. Complete their their line for bits and pieces |

Cush, as a goalie, do you not watch him, and see the going down too early, overplaying the shooter, flailing around all over the place, and the obligatory bad goal, at least one, every game.
Freddy apologists point out that the goals were "good" if it would have been a tough save. Well the stats aren't looking very good either and the eye test tells me that Demko faced a much tougher task and performed much better. - Aetherial
I like Freddy, and think he can be a good goalie, but Demko was just better than Andersen.
I just don't think he is the goalie of the future for this Leafs team.. Outside of a few turnovers on Saturday night, the Leafs played really well but still lost. |

I like our forward group
Marner AM Joe ( if he can make it through the season )
Hyman Tavares Nylander
Boyd 🦒 Mikey ( few options for line 3 )
I’d rather add another good D if one comes up in case of injury.

Softest goal scored was on Demko

Still the best sports section of the four dailies, but sadly, that's not saying much anymore.
20-30 years ago, there was nothing better than buying the Sun, taking out the sports section (and throwing out the rest), sitting down with a pot of coffee and reading it all.

Actually, I think Foligno would be a good fit for the playoffs.
The problem is that the Leafs have to be so careful with young assets. The salary structure is such that it is critical that they can round out a competent roster on the cheap. - Aetherial
Dubas has shown he can do that in FA consistently. |

What a goal by Barzal....nuts.
I see the Islanders are tops in their division....I thought they were gonna suck this year....and last....or the year before.....the year before that.
Yeesh...Leafs had a rough weekend. - Fakepartofme
I don't mean to sound like a grumpy old man (narrator's voice: In reality, Wedgie loved sounding like a grumpy old man) but in my day, you didn't "show up the goalie" like that.
Which I realize is absolutely stupid, but old mindsets die hard. |

We dont need Ekholm to play 15 mins a night on the 3rd pairing.
Or Holl.
The D is good, there is depth there as well.
The Leafs have a spot open for a forward to play big mins on a top line. |

Name calling?
Poking some fun at the constant barrage of the same things that get posted whenever there is a desire to paint the picture that Andersen is just terrible at everything?
Yep.

I just find it really funny that my instant reaction was "that's pretty unsportsmanlike" - even though it was a goal.
I think it tied it up or put them up by one goal, so it wasn't even like they were piling up the score.
It's just that all of us were raised with that Canadian hockey ethic, where you don't be flashy, you don't "show up" the other team, blah blah blah.
We do a great job of beating any personality out of our hockey players. |

at this point of his career, he's a 3rd line winger and he makes way too much especially if we have to give up Kerfoot, Sandin, Robertson and a 1st rd pick |

How much do you think Foligno cost? He's UFA at the end of this season and is 33.
A 2nd and a mid-tier prospect? |

Why can't it be both?
Sometimes Andersen is good, sometimes he's not good at all.. Seems to struggle with consistency..
If this Leafs team wants to do any damage in the playoffs, they will need consistent goaltending. Andersen has been anything but consistent

1/2 clapper from the boards almost, worse then anything Dead Fred has let in this year.
Also earlier in this year Matthews passed it 5 hole on the same goalie.
I think we’re a little tough on our tender regardless who it is...just me.
Off to work i go, that’s worse then our goalies!!! |
