Yes. We definitely miss Wayne. I’d like to find a Mike Brown type player to add as well.

Sadly the NHL has made these types of players extinct.

For years the excuse for Freddy was the high number of shots he faced every night. That excuse doesn’t work anymore because we control the play so much better than before. Way fewer shots against now.

I missed the game after the Leafs were up 2-1 but someone else said Marner and Rielly were horrible. Nylander always sucks. Dermott needs to be traded. Now I’m confused. How many people costed us the game

Well when the team wins the team gets credit. They generally should also take fault too but Freddy takes it more often then not.

I will also say in general I'm just okay with Freddy. He isnt the greatest nor is he the worst. He is a starter for pretty much any team in the league.

Tell me which goals he should have had?

The worst goal of the night was Tavares 1/2 clapper from the hash marks on the wall short side. Freddie made lots of nice saves last night and the goals that went in were pretty good goals and a couple fluke ones for Van. I guess we all can see what we want...I’m not a Freddie die hard fan so I don’t really care who’s in nets but let’s not pretend some don’t already think it’s a poop goal as soon as it goes in on Freddie regardless if it is or not.

No place for fact or logic when the “Soft serve, bad Fred, always on his belly, never steals us games, never keeps us in games, always gives up the bad goal at the bad time, hasn’t even won us a cup yet” derp parade is going on Garnie!

You know this come on! :-)

He's actually a good goalie, not because of position, technique or puck handling, rather because he has quick reflexes. He should just stay away from toys with small parts .....>>>>>>> CHOKING HAZARD

No truer words have been spoken, I'm guilty of that...a lot. But, that can only begin to happen when we get those soft serve goals in the first place.

All goalies let in softies, IMO, it's the goalies that do it the least that win you more games and Cups. I know obvious. We're seeing too much inconsistency right now from Fred, does he find his form again or not...is the tricky question.

PS, the "fluke ones" to you might be softies to me....fluttering deflections that slip under the arm usually don't go in when you're square and in position and not reaching late...that one to me stands out as a softie. Too deep in his net for the 4th goal, IMO.

So he goes to make a butterfly leg save his D deflects to an open man for an open net and that’s a softie??

The 4th is a 3 on 1 and he’s at the top of crease, he comes out further and it’s a pass to an open net you’re hanging him for that. 🤷🏻‍♂️
You call it soft goals, I call it soft play in front. 😞

Not sure we’ll ever agree on hockey’ing, so we’ll just chat about the fun stuff on this site, like making fun of Sens fans etc.

I may have gotten which goal is which....I look at the highlights again.

Point stands....I think the last few years he's had a consistency problem and it's getting worse. Just look at his stats this year compared to others. The decline is not that subtle.

But yes, our Fs/Ds makes some serious mistakes at times which exacerbates the above.

If you're unhappy with it, vote with your time and your money. Give the NHL neither until they change their ways.
