I was shocked when Willy didn’t make a little pass up the middle. He had three guys open. Other than that brain fart he had a great game. |

When Freddy is on he’s really on. But way too often he’s not. I feel more comfortable with Campbell. - shack67
I agree with you Shack. I think Jack “The Groin” Ripper has been very solid when he’s in there. |

Campbell plus a little bit of this would do nicely.

I agree you with fine fellas. Campbell more, Freddy less.
And I've always been a huge proponent of Simmonds coming to the Leafs, and he proved his worth in the short time he played. Dying for him to get back.
When is Wayne expected back??? |

It is a joke that people don't see this.
Hutchinson is awful also, but even Hutchinson doesn't seem as erratic as Andersen.
As yourself this, would you really be surprised if any goal, from anywhere, at any time goes in on Ander5en? You might shake your head, be pissed... but would anyone really be surprised. - Aetherial
Doesn’t matter what he does, awesome shots go in and you say the exact same thing every game. I’ll just nod and wave when you guys talk tending. No biggie... |

Not so, Leafs worked hard for a lead and a 65' knuckler beat Andersen for the tying goal. It was a softee. On the go ahead goal, look at his positioning, Andersen is on his knees, ass high in the air face maybe two inches above the ice. Not easy to make any save from that position. Praying for it to hit you maybe. Freddy was the second best goalie yesterday by a significant margin - winsix
It was knuckler because it was tipped right in front of him - anyways, doesn’t matter what kind goes in some are never happy. 🤷🏻♂️
Might want to watch them again

People see what they want to see. Doesn't help when they only see one off games of other goalies. Or highlights. |

Serious questions and opinion or two G....first I'll preface with all goalies let in "bad" goals sometimes and there are some great plays that are just unstoppable for a goalie. I mean, the point is to score goals and win games so the puck has to go in the net or there is no game.
BUT...one goalie has to be better and it is starting to look like that is NOT Freddy more often than it is.
Why the fu3k does Freddy NEVER keep us in a game or steal us a game? Or, when was the last time he did?
Why have we not won a playoff round with Freddy in net? Why doesn't he ever rank high on the list of goalies with shut outs?
I like(d) Freddy. He 'was' good for us. Some of us just think that Freddy is NOT good enough any more. He's clearly inconsistent and rarely does he steal a game.
If Freddy can't put a string of good games for us over the next few months, we should all agree he should be gone.
If this is the perfect window to win the Cup, if this is the right team on F and D to do it, are you seriously willing to bet all of that on Freddy in net???
I'm not.
I want the Leafs to win the Cup for once in my life. I don't trust Freddy to do that for us unless I see him put a string of good games together really fu3king soon.
Same Edmonton team 3 games in a row, same Leafs team 3 games in a row except the goalie...
2 shut outs.
1 not a shut out.
He just can't play well consistently. The Leafs need that. He's not going to get better IMHO. I hope he does, I just don't think he will. |

That's a pretty valid statement actually.

Ummm....Freddy not looking good there either.
Oh, and I did watch Markstrom all game last night. Clearly a much better goalie. |

Tell me which goals he should have had?
The worst goal of the night was Tavares 1/2 clapper from the hash marks on the wall short side. Freddie made lots of nice saves last night and the goals that went in were pretty good goals and a couple fluke ones for Van. I guess we all can see what we want...I’m not a Freddie die hard fan so I don’t really care who’s in nets but let’s not pretend some don’t already think it’s a poop goal as soon as it goes in on Freddie regardless if it is or not.

Most of the criticism isn't about his stats so weird to goto them to prove a point.
I have no problem with him just being okay. Niemi had a god damn cup for (frank)s sake and he wasn't that great.
Markstrom currently is a better goalie. I didnt say noone was better.
Also I think comparing one game to one game isn't ideal.

You said why does he never keep us in games. Did you watch the second period last night? He is the reason they got out of it 2 to 1.

I missed the game after the Leafs were up 2-1 but someone else said Marner and Rielly were horrible. Nylander always sucks. Dermott needs to be traded. Now I’m confused. How many people costed us the game

For years the excuse for Freddy was the high number of shots he faced every night. That excuse doesn’t work anymore because we control the play so much better than before. Way fewer shots against now. |
