The priority is to get the third line where Dubas thought he had it at the start of the season; someone to play with Mik and Hyman. I really don’t think Dubas is worried about adding more toughness for its own sake, if he was he wouldn’t have started with Kerfoot in that spot. He’ll have Simmonds back.
Anyway I don’t agree that playoffs are won “after the whistles”. If that were the case the Leafs would not have gone to game 7s against much tougher Boston teams. They were a few mental mistakes away from taking those series. - Canada Cup
and very soft goals. That cannot be disputed. They happened. |

I don't know what's worse, his opinions in his columns or the "rumors" he reports.
I'd trade exactly nothing he said there for Foligno. - GreatGigInTheSky
nor would I, but it is more that I think the Leafs cannot afford to trade their best young talent. They will need those guys, and a steady stream of those guys, to offset the salary structure they have chosen to go with. |

Despite recent results, Taylor Hall would be the biggest addition to any team looking for more offense for the playoffs. I don't see another candidate that comes close.
I don't think he's the best fit for what the Leafs need anyway, but if he's to join the team, I fully expect teams to have to pay a premium price for him. - Scabeh
I disagree.
Thats not how a market works.
You pay a price of what the market sets through supply and demand. Teams are said to be opting out of adding salaries(some teams will lose money making the playoffs), 7 Canadian teams aren't paying market value once these next few weeks pass. It is a buyers market and it will most certainly effect every players value.
Teams aren't spending top dollar for Hall when they know they dont have to. |

It is a lot to ask for him to hit on all of them. Also who's the next vet he brings on the cheap?
He has also done a good job building a prospect pool that was depleted just a few years ago. It has plenty of B prospects which are good to use at the TDL to fill holes.
He'll have to work hard each year filling those holes but he has options to do it every year with the KHL, Vets, Ennis/Boyd type guys, TDL. - Santo_44
I don't expect it, and have never criticized him for it. I like idea because he is brining in guys who want to be here. I think that can't hurt the tone in the room.

Foligno is a pretty fantastic defensive player...He'd help but I agree they aren't trading high end talent for him.
a 2nd and a 3rd/4th at most is his value. |

Ive always believed it helps having a solid AHL team that takes care of their players and is in the same city.
It is big for guys like Boyd who can sign knowing at worst he goes to the Marlies. |

I agree, although I believe this is the season for the Leafs to go for it, I dont see or want them over paying.
Im sure they have a couple targets in mind, but ill be honest I have no idea what they plan on doing.
it may be nothing much at all

I would say there are not many legit knocks a player can have against playing in Toronto. Like Montreal, it is a great city.
Taxes and Media would be the biggest problems I think, again, like Montreal. The organzations themselves are, by all accounts, first class. |

Rumors: Steve Simmons from the Toronto Sun reported that he has heard #CBJ Nick Foligno’s name keeps popping up in #LeafsForever rumors. Simmons said a package could include pieces like Alex Kerfoot, Rasmus Sandin, Timothy Liljegren, Nick Robertson or an early draft pick.
Steve Simmons lol - burn

I think most GMs are smart enough to know that there may be circumstances beyond his control that are contributing to his poopy season. |

Amazing podcast off the post. The NHL is going back to the old days of bench clearing brawls players getting Injured and career ending injuries. Someone is going to get killed on the ice it's only a matter of when. Is that is the look the NHL wants it sure looks like that. Dred the day it happens but its coming |

Buffalo should be looking at a first round pick for Hall. Add in prospects/picks/roster players as they continue to retain salary up to the max.
If I were Buffalo that is where I would start. |

The problem with the Leafs is they are so top heavy, they can't give away picks and prospects, because they need a certain number of guys on ELCs each year. |

I didn't say the leafs would be able to fulfill said pricetag.
I honestly think the leafs can't afford and shouldn't go after Hall. |

Yeah not sure how the Leafs are supposed to add Hall. Maybe they should add Crosby, the Loch Ness Monster, the Easter Bunny and God too. |
