Ugh they could play a period 5 on 3 without scoring by the looks of it

Frustrating how they dump and chase, they always seem to wait until the other forwards stop at the line before shooting it in.... It isnt going to work if the players slow down or stop at the blue line

There is a positive. They are starting to outshoot the opposition.

Once again the Flyers refuse to shoot the puck, especially on the PP. I think I will puke if I hear JJ and the other announcers praise the Flyers for how many good "Looks" they got on the PP. It's pretty simple, If they don't shoot the puck it won't go in the net. Special teams are killing the Flyers....

could be...or does Fletch make a deal? Although he can't do anything that will help
- DaveofYork

I don't know at this point. I think Ekholm would help but he will not be enough with the way this team is playing. If they continue like this, and for the most part they have played like crap this entire year, Fletcher may decide to do nothing until the offseason versus overpaying at the trade deadline. I guess I understand if he decides to go this direction, but I will be greatly disappointed as a fan that is absolutely tired of waiting for this franchise to get their crap together and field a contender on the ice.

First time fans in the building in a year, and they are serenaded with boos. Can't make it up.

Outside of Farabee, JVR, and Elliott what players are exceeding expectations?

Hart has been bad
Provorov has been average at best
Patrick has done nothing.

This team as currently constituted is going nowhere.

All they do is pass back to the point and shoot. Pretty predictable.

Elliott is a dime a dozen backup goalie, what expectations is he exceeding? You saw last game what happens when you play him two games in a row, he gets exposed.

If you get a chance, watch the Bruins PP, watch the movement and their ability to attack the center of the zone. Very little time do they spend on the boards.

Overall on the season Elliott has been solid. He's been better than Hart which is a big problem.

At this point, you can pretty much pencil in 3+ goals for the opposition. Not gonna win too many games till they learn to defend better.

For the most part they defended fine. They had a bunch of turnovers in the 2nd + the dumb JVR play and Farabee losing Orlov outside of that they played fine.

Their passing was extremely poor especially when the pressure to score is on. Then when they have good chances they pass too much. They look for that hail mary pass way too much.

Credit to Samsonov as he did play very well. He made some huge saves.

There it is. The flyers get chances and either make a bad pass, miss the net or take themselves out of good scoring position.

Give it a rest its the same lame Giroux and lack of leadership. Can you actually formulate an actual analysis to back it up?

Can someone explain to me why the Flyers are so stationary on the PP. It seems like it's been this way for years. I watch other teams on the PP and they are constantly moving. It seems like the Flyers have the same players in the same position all the time. Great asst. coaches working for these special teams. They need to find a legit #1 pair defender(been saying this since the day Niskanen retired) and I don't want to pick on Patrick cause he's probably been through hell in the past year to get back on the ice, but it may be time to let him sit out a game or three. He's just downright awful and the only time I notice him on the ice is when someone is taking the puck from him while he is falling down.

Really? Because you always bring him up as if he was. He's always the guy you compare Giroux too. Funny how its only comparable when it suits your narrative.
