Patrick posted his 14 consecutive goose egg on the scoresheet today. That is absurd.

Kid is making it really easy for the GM to shop him around.

You just know the minute they trade him he's gonna blow up and whoever we get will turn into Luke Schenn, lol.

I think thats a terrible deal for Fletch if he makes it. Pick one or the other. The problem is how do you make the money work.
Far to much to give for a 30 year old dman.
The flyers do need a dman for sure but i hate this deal.

Send them Gus

Not sure why Poile would want our Johansson-ultra lite. In the trade were are getting the only proven player

Braun has got to go sorry to say it he is a warrior but his hockey sense is not great. That play on the fourth goal was really bad he followed his man directly into Provorov for some reason leaving 2 guys completely open.

Flyers need defensive help. And I’m tired of just saying “2 to 3 more years until they are ready to compete”.

That said, this season is a complete joke. Everything about it. And with the expansion draft coming, I’d sit tight on making any major move.

This team has got tons of issues to work through before being a serious contender for the Cup

Lol, Ekholm is Nashville's best asset? He's like their 3rd best dman...

And nobody is going to offer more than Patrick + 1st. Nobody.

Fletcher won't even offer that much. Trust me.

I said this on the Ek blog regarding the price for Ekholm. Man some of these offers, you’d think it was Josi being traded for.

I don't know this at all. At some point our luck has got to change. We have given Patrick enough time that we can see what his ceiling, and its not a top 6 forward. And I don't think it a limitation is skill, instead I think its a limitation is his mindset and approach. Trading him does have the risk that Patrick at some point figures it out, but there is also a good chance he won't figure it out, and I for one don't want to waste cycles waiting for the final verdict. If Patrick can land you a top 4 D like Ekholm now, you make that trade any day of the week and twice on Sunday!

In the end I don't think Nashville would want Patrick, I know if I were GM I would not.

That is for sure, but fixing their D has got to be at the top of the list!

It's a miracle the Flyers were not swept in this Pitt miniseries
- DaveofYork

What really bothers me more is the Flyers should have won this 3rd Penguin game, they had the game well in hand, and even when Elliott made that gaff, they were still 3-3 going into the 3rd. And the Flyers allowed themselves to be shutdown by an inferior team. We have seen in all three games that the Flyers when they focus can completely dominate the Penguins, and then for some reason they just lose focus and unravel. I just don't understand why this is. I still believe they desperately need better D on this team, but even with that they will not win until they figure this out!

I saw this and I’d be shocked if ekholm got this return.
- Hextall271

Roman Josi is clearly Nashville's best defenseman, but Ekholm and Ellis are very close, and if I had to choose I would pick Ekholm because he does everything Ellis does but in a larger package.

Who do we protect in the expansion draft? Proverov, Sanheim, Myers, Ekholm?

I have no problem with trading Patrick for Ekholm after the expansion. Before the expansion draft, acquiring a defenseman to protect in the expansion beyond our obvious 3 is a big risk in value for assets.
