So you want Virtanen? - habs88888
Fawk... I'm all over the place this morning, can't read, I thought you said you didn't want Ekholm... lol
And I like Virtanen, just no need for him on this roster |

Don’t think Caufield plays LW which is an area we need, unless we ship out some contracts I don’t see Hall coming. I do see a 4th line veteran centre and a dman as TDL targets but who we ship out is the question, I do want to see Lindholm and Haula on the team - habs88888
I don't see Bergevin moving Tatar or Danault during the season, but both could be gone at the end of it. They could move Armia if they need $$$, but they would lose a big guy upfront.
Toffoli is mainly a RW but plays on the left at the moment. It can be done. Tatar may not be back next season (I do like him). Armia could be moved to make place for Caufield. Yes, you lose some size but you get more skills upfront.
They could move Kulak or Mete on D, but Mete would not be enough to get more cap space. They could move another D from their top 4 (Chiarot?), but another would have to come back.
Any move the GM makes, he has to have Seattle in mind. |

Tatar & Danault could go if they fall out of it |

Yes, if they are out of the playoffs picture by the TDL (I don't know the date this season), then I could see it. But what a let down that would be after the start of this season and all the changes made before this season. It would have to be the end of Bergevin in mtl. |

It would be sh!tty indeed... but if they're gonna fall on their face, might as well do it right and come away with a top 10 pick, maybe even top 5... and I'm not sure Bergy gets the boot if they fail to qualify |

I mention him in the summer but wonder where he fits in our lineup, maybe replace Armia at RW on 3rd line ? |

they can't move everybody and most of them have contracts beyond this season
so you're looking at Armia, Danault and Tatar, mostly |

I think he will get the boot if they don’t qualify, I think Molson has been more public about how disappointing he would be if they don’t make the playoffs. That being said to me they should make it barring some catastrophe , but I would call this season a failure if they don’t at least win 2 rounds in the playoffs, not easy I know |

I fully agree. I guess my point is if this version of the Habs, in this division, without any major injuries, can't even make the playoffs...time to blow it up and go full rebuild, no more on the fly bullpoop. A few years of pain type rebuild.
I don't think it'll come to that by any means, I'm still confident the Habs figure it out this year but if they can't Molson needs to be honest with himself and decide it's time to build it properly. |

I would expect key changes but not a full rebuild. It's too late to do that by now after last season (Anderson, Toffoli, Allen to some degree, Gallagher, Petry, etc). |

He is like a more skilled version of a right handed Mete , will he survive the rigors of the playoffs I am not sure |

Vatanen would be a decent depth addition if they're looking like a strong playoff team, a wasted pick otherwise |

Do you think we could see Fleury back on this team this season?
And do you think Romanov with Weber could work? Too soon? They could lose a defenseman to Seattle anyway. They are not picking Byron. |

Don’t see Fleury here in a shorten season, who else can Seattle pick for forward outside of Byron? |

I'd like to see Fleury, he's a solid D
And I'd definitely pair up Weber & Romanov, Mete was there as an 18 year old, right? I'd at least give him some minutes there, see how it goes...
Seattle could very well take Allen |

They don't have to pick a forward. They will go with a defenseman or Allen. Would you not? I would. |

Hard to say... maybe give them TB 2nd rounder and a later pick to take Byron |
