Lacking first-line talent, there is no practical solution for the Hab's OT and Shoot-out failures. The team is simply too slow and absent offensive acumen. However, moving on from Ducharme and hiring a coach that prioritizes strict system play, similar to Barry Trotz, might enable the team to find greater success. As this season is likely the final opportunity to be competitive, I would strongly suggest Bergevin abandon the foolish francophone only requirement and hire a coach suitable to this roster.

Ducharme should never have been promoted. Despite Bergevin's assurances, he is not known to be respected by the players, and these players are simply not suited to his style of play. While I do not think Sutter is a great coach, he was available and would have been more suitable to this roster. I now fear Sutter may be able to resolve the Flames dressing room issues, propelling them beyond the Habs in the standings. It is a shame to watch Bergevin waste the opportunity presented by this season's divisional realignment, and he should not be retained if this opportune season is squandered.

Spring is hitting hard here. Saw my first anole throat display. Can't wait to see the first fight break out among those little buggers as they try to establish their territory for breeding.

My parents finally got their vaccine appointment. They need it. My dad has cataracts surgery soon and my mom might need some work done on one of her legs.

Ducharme has been head coach for what, 5 games? not sure where this "he is not known to be respected by the players" thing comes from but I've never heard of this and I don't see it, and I think he deserves a decent shot at it before throwing him under the bus

Technically it's called a dewlap, which the male anoles have. They use it to attract mates and establish territory. Sometimes they also do a "dance":
