Forwards, defense, goalies. coaches, GM, water boy, trainers, Covid-mgr - total team effort. There was nothing there. Nothing!

Can't think of one thing about this game that made me happy - other than it ended!

Every team lays an egg once in a while. We took 3/4 with MTL. Looking forward to the Toronto Series.

Did anyone think Colorado or Boston would both be in third place in their divisions? On paper, these teams should both be in first. I wonder if their fans are calling for their coaches to be fired ?

Have either Colorado or Boston played any garbage hockey though?

The Bruins are 5 points behind the first place Islanders and 3 points behind the second place Caps but have played three less games then the Isles and two less then the Caps, also the East division is by far the most competitive division.

As for the Avs they've played three less games then the 2nd place Blues and are three points behind them while they've been missing some key players like McKinnon and Makar.

I don't think anyone expected either the Bruins or Avs to be much higher than where they presently are especially Boston who has holes in their lineup, I despise the Boston Bruins for the record.

Just some context cause the Jets laying yet another egg on Saturday isn't a fair comparison to either of those teams being in third place in their respective divisions.

Remember when Tampa got swepted in the first rd by Clb? Haha. I am not concerned. Jets holding 2nd in the North and have assembled what I consider to be a team built for playoffs.

Again, Minnie is screwed on their abililty to protect players during the expansion draft. Guerin has said he is willing to part with a good player to help shake things up. They aren't getting out of their conference with Vegas/Col/Stl all to go through. So target Dumba who could bring the Jets a legitimate top pairing. Jomo needs help, and I don't want to see the Pionk/Forbort pairing split up.

What do you think it takes to get Dumba?

This is easily the hardest year to evaluate potential trades. Statsny and Schmidt both went to 3rds. I assume Dumba will cost more, but it really comes down to who can afford that 6M cap hit going forward. It seems perfectly tailored for Jets cap space, and Minnie has to shed some contracts or they will be allowing Seattle to grab a valuable player for absolutely nothing. If I am Chevy, I am thinking it goes something like this:

To Peg : Dumba
To Minnie : 2021 2nd + Niku. Throw in an additional 2022 2nd if the Jets win the North.

His term is more than fair, but could be a deal breaker for teams trying to budget for their upcoming RFA's.

I love trade scenarios:

To WPG: Matt Dumba

To MIN: Jansen Harkins, Sami Niku, 2021 Conditional 1st round pick*

*Pick become a 2022 2nd round pick if the 2021 and 2022 drafts amalgamate.

Jets are not using Jansen Harkins and have not used Sami Niku properly. They might as well get some good value for them before Maurice “Petans” them.

This is such a well thought out post!

JetFuel, in bowling this post would be a strike. Knocked all the pins out with one fierce blow.

Ok. I would run away from this trade if I were Chevy. Minnie doesn't hold the power here. Minnie has 9 players inked to NTC's, and Dumba will be unprotected no matter what. Comparing what Schmidt was traded for, and Pietrangelo being the only D to sign for more than Dumba's AAV, it is safe to say that trade values have taken a serious hit. I can't see too many teams that can afford to add Dumba to their books next year, that also don't have serious issues with expansion protection. Minnie is forced with letting Dumba go for absolutely nothing in exchange for a potential playoff run in the toughest division. Doesn't make sense, but his Value isn't what it was pre-covid.
