Like I said before, I wish these "boards" had more of a chat room setup. I don't read his blogs at all.

He use to spit them out like crazy. But honestly our comment section is the real core to our blogs.

Unless you luck your way into another 1C and 1D it’s gonna be a long rebuild. That’s just how the cap era works.
- Feds91Stammer

I like how the Rangers did it. Rare for teams to start rebuilding when they can still compete for a playoff spot, but they built a deep system quick because they sold most of their players while they still had value.

Yes, they had lottery luck, but even without that they found a lot of pieces.

The Rangers also didn’t have anyone worth having retire a Ranger (yes that’s a dig at Queenie)

He probably just has more interesting things in his life to do. I've always suspected he started off thinking his blog here might lead to a better opportunity and once it didn't he wasn't as committed.

Rangers didn’t do anything smart lol. They overpaid for Trouba and Panarin basically only wanted to go there. They undeservedly got a 1st and a 2nd overall.

My focus has always been what can guys like Rust, Dumoulin, Zucker, and the big one Guentzel get you? I'd think hard about it this off-season if they missed the playoffs. At best I likely just take one more shot, let Rust go as a UFA and start moving some guys for futures.

Sid and Malkin and maybe Letang can retire as Pens, but I'm not for waiting another 3 years to start rebuilding.

Sid and Geno aren’t sticking around if we decide it’s done and trade everyone. It’s one or the other. Start the rebuild three years early, or see Sid and Geno retire here. I’m picking the second option. Too much luck goes into rebuilds to get worked up about three years.

Talking about trading guys like McDonaugh, Miller, and Nash while they still had value instead of squeezing every drop from their roster just to compete for a playoff spot.

That's their choice. I'm giving them that choice if they want it, but not propping up the roster. 3 more years on top of however long a rebuild will take is too long.

I think transparency is a good thing. Sometimes you don't know if your team is just being dumb or calculated. I think more teams should be that transparent about their plans.

We’re talking about two generational talents that revitalized a franchise that was in danger of being sold and moved. Three years is a small concession to repay continued existence.

They gave up core NHL players for not a ton of value. To vics point seeing what they got you might as well wait 3 more years
