Sounded like the Rangers traded up to get Pettersson the year they drafted Lias too. Could you imagine?

No definitely. At least this time it wasn’t “the player they wish they took”. There’s nothing they could do about the Canucks taking him sooner.

LAF and Kakko were gimme's.

The jury is still out on the rest. However, we run into the issue that we have way too many very good prospects and serious gaps at center to fill. Its a good problem to have however, trading for centers will usually always require an overpay.

Personally, Id prefer they go after Barkov than Eichel. However, I think the push for Eichel was written years ago when they brought in Quinn and have, for better or worse, basically neglected the center position.

I don't think the jury is out on K'Andre Miller

I think they have reached their verdict

Did you see Gauthier play today? That 5th goal doesn’t happen without him. Great D play, sets up the goal

I don’t understand what you guys have against this guy 🤷🏻‍♂️

Get back on your message, TJ.
Not one person on here said they don't want Gaut, or even that they don't want to see him succeed. But, the fact is that he has work to do to live up to his potential. And potential is not enough to keep you in the line up at this time.

With the way Fla is playing Barkov isnt leaving.

La has a few centers, they could be a good trading partner.

unless a big trade happens, moving forward, the RW's are going to be Buchnevich, Kakko and Kravstov

and the LW's are Panarin, Lafreniere and Kreider

it's pretty amazing when you think about it

and honestly, if Zib was even 50% of himself, Zib, Strome and Chytil down the middle is not the end of the world either

Everyone stop a minute and read this post of Jim's.

We all know this is the future line up for our wingers. Or at least a 90% chance of it.
Zib will improve to something around the 1B center level, Chytil is improving daily and then there's Strome...
Ryan Strome has played 155 games as a Ranger and has 109 points, and is +22, and 47% on face-off. And he gets poop on every single (frank)ing day here. A lot of you guys are going to female dog non-stop unless we can ice the top player in the world at every position. That is completely unrealistic and even less fair to the people running and playing for this team.

Take some (frank)ing happy pills and enjoy the Goddamn ride, for (frank) sakes!!!!!!

Rant over. Enjoy your Sunday. See you all tonight!!

Darn Putin ruined everything. Get Panarin back so the Rangers can lose again.
- ses111

I would've thought that Panarin would be back by now. I get his initial decision, but I haven't seen anything written following the first day or so the story came out. Story seems to have stopped in its tracks..What gives?

Taking the $$/contract out of the conversation (not realistic, i know) no one here should have a problem w/ Strome being our 2nd/3rd line center. Like you said, he's like a .75 ppg player. Not too shabby.

But he’s playing well for crying out loud. He’s playing better then Blackwell the last 3 games I’ll tell you that much

With Panrain back and Zib playing half way decent, it's not too much to expect NYR to make serious push for playoff spot. As long as Shesty can start playing soon

It HAS to be his wife's fault. She's probably locked herself in the BR with a bottle of Stoli.

when Panarin left, Trouba out I just didn't think we were hanging around and now the Flyers and Penguins are definitely catchable

they have gotta win these Penguin games though, they blew points against them earlier in the sseason

Your opinion doesn't necessarily line up with the coaches, though does it?
Do you watch him away from the puck while you are watching the game instead of following the play? Most people don't.
Sometimes I do, since I'm often watching on delay and don't mind rewinding and looking for small things.
From what I see, I understand the coaches choices with Gautier. And, everything you are saying about his upside is true. I am confident the staff sees all that, too. Buch, Kakko, Lias, Chytil, Gautier... all have been treated the same in developing their all around game as young player taking the next step. And all but Lias have risen to the challenge and learned the skills necessary. You don't give shortcuts just because of potential.

Yep.
If we continue to build on what we've done in the last 10 games, this Penguins team doesn't scare me.

Yup. Would love to see a set 4th line. I'm waiting for the day we have one like the Isles. Very underrated part of good teams. Probably not realistic until team progresses a bit more. HUGE decision coming up on Zib contract.

and I don't know if the solution to all the RW's is to trade Buchnevich, him and Lafreniere have a really good thing going

a 4th line of Barron-Howden-Gauthier is definitely big when you think down the road

but then you have Lemieux-Rooney-Blackwell

there's a lot of wingers here

this is why I kept telling people not to jump off a bridge over losing Fast, I just had no idea Blackwell was gonna be this effective

Im not sold on Kravstov yet. He isnt here and hasnt played an NHL game since he left. Once he is back, we will see how he plays. I think you posted an interview with him from a Soviet paper. He didnt sound like he was in a rush to get back here. Most KHL contracts have an out clause so the player can come back to the NHL when the season starts. He didnt put that into his contract. That was a little worrisome. He could wind up being another Anderson.

Howden isn't an "energy" guy. He just seems like a stop gap.

I like Buch --- I just don't see the team re-signing him because of the flat cap. He is most likely traded, whether its a big deal for a center or not.

Don't think it applies since he was loaned.
