I know I'm in the extreme minority, but I have thought Strome is playing well enough of late that I would be fine with him as the 3c, especially given his obvious connection with Kreider. Those two talk so much on the bench after shifts.
With the development we've seen from Chytil, I would be perfectly fine if they did not make a trade for a center and played the long game by drafting a C. - Bean_Dip
I think you’re spot on. That’s a dream scenario IMO if you can have both of those guys on your 3rd line and special teams. Rangers could realistically have a 1st line, 2A, 2B situation. That balance goes a long way from distribution of ice time to matchup nightmares.
Edit: Top 2 centers still up for debate but if Zib gets back into form and Chytil develops, maybe the need for a center isn’t as bad as we thought. Chytil still might be better off on the wing though and Zib may just be the top 2C in the league. Guess we’ll see. |

Have not had a problem with Strome of late, but they still need to draft every center in this draft - mdw7413
Yep, my thoughts exactly. He's not a long term solution to win the Cup, but I would be perfectly okay with him as the 3c of the future, cost permitting. To that point, I could absolutely see him taking a fair contract to stay in NYC. He has really found a home for himself on the team. |

I still don't think Strome has a future here but I love the fact he is raising his trade value. He keeps this up and the Rangers stay out of playoff contention teams will be calling for a trade at the deadline |

I still think there's a need to draft a center. The team is so thin at the position. It would be prudent to draft a bunch and then deal from a position of strength. |

Must drive you crazy that Kreider is exploding with Strome by his side. They really are a great pairing. Forces Kreider to be the guy and lets Strome play his game because he doesn't need to be the guy. |

As long as he is scoring and playing well I am always happy, doesn't matter with who. It's why I was never worried about Kreider. Every year of his career he gets off to slow starts so I knew he was due for this production turn around soon. |

I don't really dig into the fancy stats (imo if someone is playing well and putting the puck in the net like Kreider is, I have no reason to believe he won't keep doing that), but Kreider's shooting % is 29.5% |

Yeah, it will fall off, its impossible to sustain, but as long as Kreider plays hard, he is good to go in my book. Also think Kreider is lifting Strome up right now. Hopefully when Kreider isn't scoring at the current clip Strome will be putting some in the net. |

Yea he won't keep scoring hattricks every other game so that will drop. But I think he could push for a 30 goals in a 56 game season. That would be legit for him. |

Definitely won't keep scoring in bunches like this, but most of his goals are coming from around the net, which are sticky type goals. Meaning, these are the types of goals that are likely to keep happening.
Good point on Strome. And depending who they get paired with (I don't imagine Blackwell staying in the top 6) Kakko might be there to help pot a few. |

They need Panarin to come back. The lack of any news about that is getting a little frustrating. Granted we have no idea what he is actually going through. If they can tread water until he comes back they might be OK. Not so sure how they are going to fare if Shestyorkin is out long term. That looked really bad. |

I find it strange with Panarin. Apparently he is still skating and working out. So if he can still do that why can't he play? Just a little odd during all of this. I thought a leave of absence meant no hockey at all and stepping away.
And yea Igor was the only reason we won last night. Without him its 4-0 after the first period. His stats are crazy good this year, minus his overall record. They need him to have any chance

Agreed. If Strome's stock is raised, definitely trade him. His baseline is definitely too low for a 2C that we need. |

20 games until the trade deadline including tomorrow's game
I figure they are gonna need to go at worst like 11-6-3 to stay in this thing where they don't consider themselves sellers |
