I’m personally over it. I think Bill brought up a good point about, in hindsight, trying to put him through waivers before the season started. If Prosser as they said impressed in camp and took the 8 or 9th spot from Friedman, it would have been good to do it then. I mean let’s be real since we are talking an 8/9 role, unlikely to play more than 2-3 games, Prosser the vet is the better choice to sit out.

This gets Friedman a chance to play and gives the Flyers an open contract spot. Move on.

I would trade for a Bobby Ryan type player within the coming weeks. Who have we lost within the last month to Covid? Giroux, Voracek, Braun, Lindblum, Sanheim, Laughton and Farabee. We’d be lucky to have a Bobby Ryan right now as a depth player as the type of cost. You can even alternate between Ryan and Aube-Kubel. NAK is younger and I understand wanting him to play but Ryan is more likely to produce and move up in the line up.

Anything more than a second...walk. He’s a pending UFA. He has injury history. His offense can fall off as anytime. He’d just be depth for us. I’d low ball them with a third and work up to a second.

I don’t know if you would consider it “more” but maybe they would look for a close-to-NHL-ready prospect instead of a draft pick. A few moves like that could speed their rebuild.

Yea but he may have had to pass waivers again. 10 games or 30 days I believe and waivers go into effect again. Could be wrong.

He'd have gone down to the Taxi Squad and been recalled as needed. Barring some sort of long-term absence on the NHL roster, he wouldn't have hit the threshold where he'd need to pass through waivers a second time.
