idk if anyone is noticing but Palms is going thru the motions out there and couldn't care less about this season. His dumb penalty ruined the momentum and then instead of attacking the puck in his dzone he waited for it to come to him (and even backed away). Was immediately met by a ranger and they kept the puck in zone leading to the second goal. He deserves to be benched or be playing 4th line minutes. Take the A away from him cause he isn't doing any good. And if you want to say he is upset he didnt get captain....captain material wouldn't act like that.

Him and Zajac have been warriors but they have gotten use to losing. Calgary is looking for a right shot RW that is capable of top line minutes. Palms is nothing more than a fringe second line wing on a good team (prove me wrong).

While I do not disagree with you, I do have to back up Palms. When Hughes got buried from behind, and the coward Simmonds skated by the scene, Palms dropped the mitts. He has led the devs in hits the past 3 seasons. He has been bad this season, don't get me wrong, but he has earned some leniency in my books. I am a fan of what he has done for this club that has lacked a minimum of 3 top 6 forward in each of the past 4 seasons.

Now. I am a Canadian. Any others out there? This Matthews for Hart is driving me nuts. Marner is far better, MacKinnon is far better than Marner, and McD is far better than anyone in the league. Why all the Matthews talk???? Does anyone remember last season, when Pasta had 28 goals through 30 games and was still not in contention for Hart? He also put up far more assists than Matthews, who is pacing for 29 this season. I get this trophy ultimately means nothing, and Matthews absolutely is the front-runner for the the Richard, but this still bothers me as a Canadian, as the Colour of his water bottle gets more airtime on the morning highlights than the Devs combined.

lol i love that you preface this by telling us you're Canadian.. because I have never seen or heard any kind of Hart discussion on any radio or TV station in the states. It's beyond ridiculous. If hockey got more coverage- people would be more interested. Other sports are so big because every little story is blown up and dramatized. Hockey has MORE than plenty of storylines. I visited Canada and stayed at a guy's house for a week when I was in 8th grade and hockey was all over the TV.. cuz it's a main sport, like any other sport. Rumors ESPN may be getting some NHL in the future, and I just can't wait to see if anything changes. Shows have been having debates on Lebron for MVP 5 games, 10, 15, 20 games in to the NBA season.. like.. why? Cuz there's nothing else to talk about. Meanwhile, there have been SO MANY stories in the NHL.

I don’t know. If I’m starting a team and I can pick Matthews or Marner, I take Matthews every time. I agree McD deserves Hart. He’s just so good. Personally I lean toward Kane for Hart. But WTF do I know. Probable cause he’s killing it on my fantasy team

So not only are we not playing well, our UFA's are all having down seasons

Palms isn't scoring and gusev is MIA

Not going to get much of a return

We are going to get Richard, which is practically the team motto at this point.

Exactly. And that just proves my point. The Leaf Mania frenzy is full force up here. TSN had Matthews even in discussion for the Selke...... I would happily put my money on the guy winning the Richard Trophy, but that is it unless he finds a way to become an elite passer in this league. McD is the best, and Kane is certainly deserving of some recognition. The Canadian broadcasts somehow find a way to not even mention MacKinnon, Pasta, Kane, Hedman whom all are playing some phenomenal hockey this season.

Good point on Kane tho. He has been snubbed from many nominations and put the hawks on his back again this season, when they were expected to be a lottery team.

Don't get me started on the NBA haha. It is a league that lacks athleticism. Scouting and development mean almost nothing, and the players hop from team to team to create a "super team". I once watched Lebron take 7 full steps without travelling being called. The analytic guys think that more than 60% of travelling infractions go uncalled. How can anybody stop a guy like Lebron if he is not getting called for Travelling? Their Marketing department deserves an A+ tho. They generate a ton of revenue for a sport that lacks so many intense elements. NHL could certainly learn a thing or two.

I love hockey as much as anyone but the NBA doesn't lack athleticism lol. It's all marketing and who serves to benefit from pushing it.
