It was years later until I found out that's where it started. For all I knew it tasted like, money was really tight this week, here's what you having for dinner. You ever get the already candied glazed ham in the can? That was another crappy dinner I won't touch. - 2sticks1puck
No joke, for years I wouldn't touch ham after my childhood. I had to realize I was just getting cheap crappy ham and that it couldn't ruin it for me. - 2sticks1puck
I don't think I have had that ham but I know what you mean. Sometimes a poopty version of something makes you think all similar things suck too.

Exactly.
I wouldn't eat stringbeans for years because my grandmother would serve the disgusting canned slop which made me gag.
Now I look forward to them from the garden sauteed in butter and garlic finished with lemon.

Yep. My wife was at her moms for a brunch once (without me thankfully) and she was served canned strawberries. She loves real strawberries but canned ones should not exist. She said they were inedible.

Asparagus too, another one I hated until I started making it.

The two things you mentioned just need light cooking too (if at all) and the canning process obliterates them.
You might find this interesting, I just made my own kimchi the other day. We'll see if I don't die. - JRR1285
Made kraut several times. Tried kimchi once but there was white stuff growing on it so it got tossed. Found out later it was okay.
Also make kombucha regularly.

Yeah, apparently kimchi might mold if you have any veggie matter poking out of the water. They say you can just toss out the affected pieces and clean the neck of the jar. I used a canning spring/weight to push everything down. I might give it a try today and see how it is. It should be going in the fridge starting tomorrow.
I am interested in doing Kraut and not sure about Kombucha, I've never had it. Want to send over a recipe?
Hughes has looked great this year, not sure Kakko looked better than Hughes but Kakko definitely looked better than last year. I’m split, reason being is centers are so much harder to find than wingers. On the wings we’d still have Kreider Panarin Buch Kravtsov Barron Gauthier as a potential top 9, not saying I’d want to switch but makes you wonder if we’d be better off. - nyrangers9479
I think Laf will be the best of the 4 by a wide margin when we move 3 years forward
Def an old school military thing. My gf's grandfather had it as his last meal over the summer. Said it was the "first good thing he ate after spending years in Vietnam". You can only imagine what they were eating over there - Bean_Dip
I gotta start reading all the way through before I comment!!

I think Zegras could go down as the top player in that draft when all is said and done. Could argue the Rangers might have been better off not winning the lottery and picking him. Love Kakko, but Zegras looks special IMO. Local kid too.
