I don't think he's untouchable, not with all these RW's

He's a great asset, but he could also be great trade chip in the right deal

Maybe. But they probably listen for the right position (Like Center).

I think all the trade Zib chatter is retarded. We trade Zib and Ppick up Eichel we are back to looking for a 2C. Eichel has been as bad as Zib this year and there is no way Eichel had a better 2020 than Zib did. Zib was a top 5 player in the game last year. how soon we forget.

- Greschnergy#4

Zib has a NMC, so the point is moot. Jimmy pointed this out to me the other day and he's completely right: Who, in the history of mankind, is waiving a NMC to not play in NYC and ship up to Buffalo?

Completely true, Gresch.
Also, I believe reports say that Zib has a much better 200' game.
I'm out on Eichel just based on having to give up 2-3 significant pieces of what we have put together. Add in his contract, his deficiencies and his I-run-the-show attitude and I want nowhere near this deal.

- Tonybere

If it was 1 piece and two firsts, I'd do it. Figure the cap out down the road, probably in the form of buying out Trouba.

The only way he ever waives that NMC if there's a sign and trade in place and they're going to make him the highest paid player in the league and he just wants to get paid and play golf starting early April every year.

I personally would add Braden Schneider, for the time being because of the ADA departure and Trouba's inflated contract. Purely speculative "down the road" thought, admittedly.

well having Nils and Schneider potentiially makes one of them a trade chip, IMO

It just seems like they absolutely love Braden so much though that not much chance he's getting traded

Is it too much to see the kid play a month or so before we trade him?

LOL definitely not, but how can we consider him untouchable when we have Buchnevich, Kakko, Blackwell, Gauthier on the RW already?

13-1 over 3 games.

Toronto is going to roll through the season and get smoked as soon as they play outside the division.

...and, I will love it.

Not to mention, he seems quite content to play in Russia.

I think Blackwell can pretty much play anywhere and Gaut. better start getting consistent or he losing his spot when Kravs comes over in a few weeks time.

Yes, definitely great trade chips, and I wouldn't be surprised to see either included in a trade.

My reasoning for Braden being included in the "untouchables" is because of his skillset combined with the future of the roster. 987654614 is right, if they plan to bring in another $10M player, Trouba is likely gone. Braden and his cheap contract would be a good plan to replace him.

Ehhh.. He'd be here if he was going to start in NYC....With Covid and such, I have no problem with him wanting to make more in KHL, get more games and then come back here after their playoffs.

He can come here this season and play with the Rangers straight away, right?

Can't forget that management loaned him to the KHL. They had as much of a say in him going back to Russia as Kravs did. He'll be here, in the NHL, when the season is over.

My point was more about the fact that Zib has been nothing less than sensational for us for a bunch of years. We even call it the greatest steal trade in the history of the franchise and after 19 games when he has a shooting percentage under 3%, we turn on him and think his career is over - he is 27 not 37. I get Jimbro's point about that NMC but I don't think it should even get to that!! And you can live in Toronto and play in Buffalo- its close by

What is the speculative timeline on Schneider playing for the Rangers?
How much of a factor is his $400,000 performance bonus going to be in getting him into the line up? If it's 2 more years, we have like 6 ELC's coming off the books. Hopefully, that means he can step in as soon as he's deemed ready.
