Jim Hughson is a canucks fan. Simpson in his draft year sent the leaf's a letter requesting they don't draft him. That's a fact. I suspect Simpson has a brain and knows everyone knows his bias but knows the leaf's are a cash cow and needs to be subtle - ziffles

Hyman is a good player. Everyone can use a player like him.
The Oilers need reliable goaltending that isn't in the form of a 38 year old playing the best hot streak he's played since his 20's.
Koskinen sucks and they're saddled with him for another year at $4.5. Chiarelli is like Herpes. A gift that keeps on giving.
They do have a bunch of guys coming off the cap next year (Smith, Chiasson, Larsson, Barrie, RNH) and Russell took $2.7m less to stay in Edmonton. That gives them around 18 million to toy. My friend (an Oilers fan) believes RNH is worth $8m year. He was pretty heavy into the Jack when he insisted upon this, so I don't know how much we should trust his word. I think re-upping at $6m would be ideal for the Oilers. But maybe there's room for them to find a goalie that isn't Koskinen or Smith. - Monkeypunk
They’ll probably sign Ander10 since the Leafs are letting him walk. |

I really liked it. The fifth season was so . . .awful. I never even finished it.
I heard that they had intended it to be a 4 season show all along, and when the studio insisted upon a 5th season, they tried to pull something out of nowhere to create it.
Which honestly makes a lot of sense, since the end was pretty tight at the conclusion of the 4th season. |

I think it's the needs of teams like Edmonton or Colorado that will probably price Freddy away from us. I'd consider keeping him at the same price, but ideally less; I think his value is probably right in the Markstrom wheelhouse. - Monkeypunk

They had them cancelled after S4, but they made money with that epic season and asked them to do a S5 after they had dismissed most of the contracts. They had to hire the underwriters and put something together in like 2 months instead of the years of planning and writing the others took. I just watch S1-S4...hell, you can even just do S2-4 if you want the epicness |

I know I'm in the minority here, but I think Simpson hates the Leafs more than Hughson hates the Leafs. - Atomic Wedgie
It's definitely close.
The reason I give Hughson the edge is because he talks more being the play by play guy.
He goes out of his way to call the game straight up wrong, just because of how much he hates the Leafs. Also the way he wrongly calls the plays. If a guy not on the Leafs falls for no reason, he'll say the guy was tripped or taken out. But if it's Leafs player that goes down, they "fell to the ice". |
