Leafs may be forced to protect 4D this expansion draft which will leave Kerfoot open...Is this a year where it makes sense to trade him at the TDL for an upgrade at C where the C is an expiring UFA? They can sign said player after the draft or use the money elsewhere.

cliche question... how long with Kadri be suspended for this one?

I'm not the biggest 🦒 fan out there but I don't recall slagging anyone off for liking him. I've just been underwhelmed with his development until recently.

He has virtually no offensive game to speak of but he's been a stalwart defensive type with speed. The MEH HEM line has made me a (cautiously optimistic) beleafer that we have a functional checking line. Soup seems to have been getting more puck luck and has been blazing on the PK creating chances.

Still think this team needs more grit and grind.

Speaking of which: Zach Hyman is the epitome of grind with a distinct lack of petulance. The way he skated gracefully away from Smith last night after scoring - and taking so much abuse - was magnificent!

Kerfoot is a nice little player.

If the Leafs trade for a top 6 forward I think the writing is on the wall for him. He isn't a great fit at 3C.

It's interesting because in a lame attempt to knock Keefe, he compliments Dubas, who is also said was terrible and needed to get fired. THe GM put this roster together, which he now claims any coach can win with.

move Kerfoot to Calgary for Bennett.

move Nylander for either a defense upgrade (preferably young) or entry level contract scorer.

trade Andersen at the deadline IF you can't agree to a reasonable 3yr deal, teams should be looking at their own goaltending situations... I can't imagine that Edmonton, Colorado amongst others wouldn't be looking for help.

I'd like to see Bertuzzi on the Leafs. He's my favourite Red Wings player but he's being wasted in Detroit. I think his gritty style game would mesh nicely with the Leafs big 4. Bertuzzi is a guy who's game is better suited for playoff hockey when the ice shrinks and the whistles are thrown away. He's kind of like Hyman. Not hockey IQ wise. But more physical. He'll give you everything he has plus he can score the greasy goals. 👍
